That's true, but that didn't matter a jot when EUROMANIA was in full force. I was as buzzing as I've been for years. Now I'm enjoying stupid pain free sporting events like golf/cricket/Olympics. I've got absolutely no desire to see the PL season start. I think my best hope with football is to see if I can engross myself in La Liga / Serie A or something. I agree with all of that. But I don't think that's particularly compatible with how Man City play, nor any of the other title contenders.

Then why did he play for Newcastle, Tottenham & Lazio and win one decent trophy in his career? Their ability isn't what I doubt. It's their style and discipline in relation to fitting into a team like Man City. As I say, we'll see. Maybe Pep has a masterplan, but the majority of promising players that go to these teams end up bench ridden. By no means do I think this is a bad move, nor do I think that Grealish shouldn't make such a move, I just don't think it's a sure thing. By a long shot.

I like Grealish, but I'm not sure Gazza makes it in a Man City team I'm afraid. Obviously he could go several different directions, but I'm not convinced it's a home run of a signing. To me it just seems like a vanity signing / a signing to avoid him going somewhere else.

Apart from it's far more likely the Man City starting XI gets filled up with FOREIGNERS and Man City's English youth languish on the bench.
