Worth about £20 a week on this showing.

Is it not the Forest fans shouting 'Moose'?

I would like to see us add a creative holding midfield player in the Alonso ilk. Someone to compliment a fully fit on form Barton, Huddlestone would be an excellent signing if Spurs signed a few and saw him surplus to requirements.

Can those who want a Reading win have a word. They've won 1 at home all season and we have them at their place next week. The last thing we need is a rejuvenated side fresh from beating Liverpool.
-
Forgetting about Nicky Butt's utter overall shitness, I think one of the main things we missed today was Smith's aerial ability. Butt barely won a header all game and they could turn defence into attack very easily. Smith is pretty dominant in the air and that's important for us as we tend to play deep away from home, with the defensive midfielder contesting a lot of aerial challenges.

Great performance today. Lita, Kitson and Bent are not too far away from the quality of strikers about a 3rd of the Premier League field and he passed with flying colours. Still made a couple of errors notably when he got the wrong side of Wheater just before the second and when he slid to intercept and missed it letting Lita in which may have put his performance in context had they gone the other way. Overall, a 9 out of 10 for me.

Shit defending but what were the cunts doing who had it in West Broms half. Gave it away so cheaply. The two subs, Faurlin and Pellicori, were woeful when they came on.
-
Some serious wank defending by Ramage for that goal. One of the weakest challenges I've seen in a long time.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/middlesbrough/8257190.stm Not according to the BBC. 3 month loan on September 15th. So, on that basis, tomorrow is his last game of that 3 month spell? Edit: Indeed it is http://www.mfc.premiumtv.co.uk/articles/match-pack-city-in-town-20091212_70638_1902377 Cracking. Sure I read somewhere that said he wasn't going back and it was permanent. Not sure how that's going to work. Good player though so glad he won't play v us.

I think Kevin Davies is a prime example of a vital striker with a poor goal output. Yes, he may not be everyone's cup of tea but the difference he makes to Bolton is unreal. I would say he probably does more than any player to keep them up each season whilst failing to score more than ten goals a season. I think what Carroll offers in both boxes is vital. The game against Reading in the second game of the season was a good example of the damage he can do without scoring. He battered them all game and provided an excellent platform for Shola to have a good game without having to worry about target man duties. His defensive play has also been excellent and has no doubt contributed to our major improvement in defending set pieces. He doesn't score as many as perhaps he should. That's fair. However, I still think he has it in him to score ten in the Premier League. He scored 3 goals last year and he can't have started more than 10 games. If he could score ten, and provide a foil for another striker to bag 15 he'll have a canny career.

Still, as long as we keep winning. Fuck's sake. Only listened to it on the radio but all I heard was the commentators saying he had given it away. it even reached a point where Lawrenson, who had been raving about him all night, said his distribution was shit. Depressing when Hughton comes out with shit like that. Those quotes, along with the opening post, concern me massively. I can see Butt getting a new contract in the summer.

Jose Enrique out for at least three weeks with hamstring injury

Aye, I'm quite sure they will say our key player this season is Nicky Butt. Aye before the game last night Lawro and PooGash (Well, whoever it was, I just wanted to say poogash) were listing off our 'important players' for this season, Nicky Butt was listed. You could hear them change their opinion on Nicky Butt as the game went on though, they were slowly realising that he is infact fucking dreadful. Yeah, even Lawrenson by the end was saying his distribution was wank. -
Hypothetical "you're the manager" type thread

By my count we need at least 6 if we come up. A centre half- regardless of if we sign one in Jan. A centre midfielder Right winger Left winger 2 X Forwards I would only let Butt and Geremi go, who are out of contract anyway. So 10m for 6 players isn't going to stretch too far. Centre mid and a forward would be musts with the other supplemented by loans and frees. It'll be a long season! -
The same Basham we booted out of our academy in 2006? He's shit. About 6th choice in both midfield and defence for Bolton. Lee won't be going anywhere on loan either. He's at worst first off the bench for them and has been starting until the last few weeks. Looks a good player though, I wasn't on about a loan... Oh, sorry. I've just got myself into a mindset where I only discuss loans when talking about signings. I don't even contemplate permanent signings!

Isn't he playing today? Lol. Yes he is. I've been badly informed.

I think Gunnarson is out injured.

Hart sacked. Nice thread.
