Btw, it's clear that Carroll doesn't fit into Rodgers' footballing philosophy. The lad is useful as muscle in the air but that's simply not how Rodgers' style. The Carroll of old (those 6 months towards the end of 2010) might have been useful in a pass and play system - I'll even go as far as saying that he might have even thrived under it but the Carroll of today seems to be better suited to the long ball and the game of strength.

I've always liked Harper. He was, more often than not, a reliable understudy to Given. He always seemed to do a solid job whenever called upon. Thought he was brilliant for us in the Championship as our number 1 - "safe hands" if you will. But unfortunately, with age, comes a decline in ability and that looks to have come Harper's way. But I do think that he still has the capabilities to be a decent backup for Krul (for one more season, at least). It'll be a shame if he does leave, always thought he would retire here. If he does move on, then I wish him all the best. The man has my respect.

Best of luck to the man. Birmingham have just got themselves a player with a proven goalscoring record in the Championship. Can certainly see him getting 10+ goals rather easily in that league.

I envisage a situation where the two could interchange during a game - that is, one goes forward while the other one stays back and vice-versa. This is something which could potentially go well imo.

This is a nice, positive signing like. Can certainly see him being groomed into a Tioté-esque player. Abeid may have been mentioned as a Tiote-type player in the past but now that I think about it, he may be more suited to a Cabaye-type role. Either way, think we now have our "proper" backup to Cheik - of course, Bigirimana will need time to settle in but I'm confident he'll be fine.
