  1. Owen could fit in really well at ManU given his movement off the ball. The fact that hes shown himself capable of playing competently from deep might have caused him to be reassessed in some managers' eyes. Might be Gudjohnsen though, as ManU were linked with him heavily before, and hes surely going to be part of the rumoured Barca clearout.
  2. £12m for Anelka would be perfect (maybe even only a couple of million net if someone is willing to pay over the odds for Smith and Stoke get promoted). Would make utter sense for them to move him on. He was mainly purchased to cover for the ANC, as Shevchenko and Pizzaro have effectively flopped, whilst the alternative option with Drogba in the team was for him to play wide, where he hasnt done well enough to warrant being a first teamer next season. He's played before under Keegan, a manager who he has openly admired, he's perfect for Viduka's role, and his maturity in not forcing a move away from Bolton should not be overlooked. Good footballer with some pace and intelligence, and although not a long term signing, could well be someone who shoots us back up the league into a position where we'd be better fit to sign good talent.
  3. Going to use this website to choose all future gaming nicknames now.
  4. 4-3-3. Works well, and is different to most of the other teams in the Premiership. We just need to get rid of the wasters/crocks/has-beens and replace them with good players, and we'd shoot up the league. The likes of Everton, Villa, Blackburn, etc, arent really that good, theres virtually no gap to bridge imo other than the replacing the aforementioned wasters with decent/solid players.
  5. He might find more French restaurants/designers/shops/bars/clubs/people in London than in Newcastle.
  6. Ibrahim Bakayoko. What a legend on Championship Manager...
  7. Ibrahimovic is an utter donkey. Crespo would be an awesome short term signing, but he'll never play for us after all the fuss he made about his family life in London.

    Spurs mole?

Didnt Mort say that despite being offered more money, Modric and Woodgate both choose Spurs over us because of European football and London's "bright lights" respectively?
  9. Carr was shit overall, but lets not forget he put in a fair few decent shifts when called upon. For that, I have an ounce of respect for him as a footballer.
  10. Those spending their entire life living on benefits when theyre perfectly capable of working would have an ever better standard of living.

    Beye today...

Hand on heart, I would replace him with someone like Chimbonda if we had the chance. He's obviously a good player, but theres just something about him that I cant put my finger on, something that makes him seem like an unnatural right back. Maybe its the way he defends with a strange start position that gives the winger more room, which might explain why he makes so many recovery tackles. Does the job most of the time, but I get the feeling he's gone largely unpunished so far. Not wanting to have a harsh opinion on a good player, but he leaves alot of room for the cross to come in imo. Again, good player, but uncomfortably so. Strange.
  12. I would take Luis Fabiano. Good all round target man, and would get us 10-15 goals as a minimum. Roque Santa Cruz would be good. Ashton is considerably better than Viduka, but has an injury record that is probably worse. Bit of a Big Dunc, will never have a good run in any side by the looks of things. Crouch would be a good last resort in terms of actually improving the first team. He's a good mid table Premiership forward, but not much more than that.
  13. If we want to make it competitive, why not introduce a standard than ensures all players must be in the same height, weight, strength, and ability band. Make everyone the same, that way everyone has the chance to win something. If any players are supremely gifted, we should kick them out of the country, otherwise its just not fair that theyre better than others.

    Steven Taylor

I'm still gutted we didnt get Woodgate. Not just because he's a damn good centreback, but because thats exactly the sort of player who could start bringing some consistency into Taylor's game. A real, classy leader who could lead by example. I reckon Carragher would be half the player he is today without Hyppia alongside him (there was a time when Carragher was a somewhat better version of Aaron Hughes prior to becoming a f****** good centreback for Liverpool at least). Faye has some good attributes, a beast in the air, but hes not good enough a centreback for me. The discipline, marking and composure isnt quite there, he basically plays at centreback as you would expect a top utility player to play (e.g. Essien or Gilberto Silva filling in at centreback, fine players even when filling in, but not having the complete package for that area of the pitch). Would be good to move him into midfield next season. If we want to see Taylor improving over the longer term, we need to get someone good and experienced in to play alongside him, and we might see more consistent performances like we did today.
  15. http://www.alanshearercentre.org.uk/ tbh Aye, I know that, I worded it slightly wrong which is why ive deleted it. Its the notion that Bellamy is meant to be a "total prick" and "waste of space" to quote many on this forum, whilst the other a saint, that im referring to. Quite clearly this kind of act shows that that view is bollocks, and I bet the same applies to Joey Barton too.

    Alan Smith

Milner might have a future here though. Still young with the ability to produce end product at times. There are a few things in his games that are clear positives - not counting effort as one of them, as its pretty much the minimum you expect from all players bar those are genius' or insanely gifted. But with him, at least theres something to work with. The others are shadows of what they were. Theyve devolved into the type of player who could play an entire season and not get an assist or a goal if luck doesnt help them out. Emre and Carr need to follow them out of the door too. That's four players who could have been useful first teamer's if they were the players they were 4-5 years ago, instead theyre getting paid the wages that their old selves would expect in the current climate whilst being utterly useless at the same time.

    Alan Smith

Hopefully Duff will follow him out of the door too, although I wouldnt be suprised if both are still here next season as we'll no doubt have attracted these "top players" here with big wages, wages that probably wont be match by anyone who actually watches these players on a regular basis.
  18. Duff through on goal, slips without getting ball under control. And he's still a top player?
  19. Oh dear, whoever that was, they shouldn't be letting Drogba do that to them.
  20. To be fair to Smith, hes a striker. Faye should have marked Ballack better.

    Valencia

Swap deal for Martins would be great business for all concerned imo. Owen and Villa behind a target man with a bit of mobility would be class.
