  1. Tough one between him and Cafu, who imo is probably the better right back whereas Zanetti is the better all round player. Both immense footballers though.
  2. Hate this Inter Milan team. No pace and they couldnt play good football if their lives depended on it. Hoping for an exciting contest, but I wouldnt be suprised if this is another typical Liverpool/Inter sleep inducing game.

Theres a massive difference in the way every half decent piece of play is over analysed and commended. The only thing you'll hear about Nani's finish is criticism of the defender's positioning, the good pass, and maybe a comment or two of "good finish" and agreement with that. If it was Rooney on the other hand, youd have heard how the movement was brilliant, how the control and first touch was excellent, how composed he was, how the awareness of the keeper was spot on, how the finish was tremendous, etc etc. Even with the small header you had a whole list of credits poured on him. Anyone else and it would just be ignored (bar others who get wanked over).

Eh? In comparison to most matches, this has been alright, really. Everytime Nani loses the ball he dives. Little cheating talentless prick. More talent than the whole of our team tbf. Hes not as good as Duff though, one of the best wingers in the world when on form.

The diving and sprawling around is really taking the piss. Fucking pansies.
  10. Yeah, he did. It was a biography of some sort, and the writer recalled how at an international training camp Ronaldo's eyes were dark red from having cried due to being forced to leave a place where he was very happy, and how he stated that his agents decided who he played for. At the same time, Sir Bobby's autobiography makes it clear that the Barca chairman decided to tear up Ronaldo's contract (i.e. sell) after getting frustrated at the agents demanding too much money for a new contract. This injury must be a big blow for Milan. Pato right now looks like a very promising forward, but it would have been a big help for him to both learn from and phase out Ronaldo, in the same way Kaka did with Rui Costa. And Ronaldo's form was pretty decent, as was his physique, so were still talking about a top forward that theyve lost. This will be the second true great from the 90's that Milan will have lost through injury after having only just signed them, the first being Redondo.

It'll only take 2 good central midfielders to turn us into a top 7 team. I don't think it would take much to turn us around, we're in a similar situation we found when Bellamy and Robert came in, I'd say a central midfielder and a right wing would push us back up the league. Like I've said, it's all about getting the balance right. We need new strikers. Our current ones all have massive faults to a man, and none of them are compatible with the other.
  12. So, second week in a row where Ronaldo has looked the best player in the world, right?
  13. Duff and N'Zogbia on the wings and Martins up front is enough pace for any team. We just suck at using pace effectively. Duff isn't fast. Neither player can deliver balls like Petrov either. With have one of the most lead legged teams in the Premiership. I find it funny when people talk about Arsenal not being a particularly pacey team. Everyone of their starting XI is stronger, fitter, faster than ours. We'll get bummed by Manure no question. Duff's hardly slow is he? Not electric fast but give him a couple of yards of a start and he's not gonna get chased down like Milner would for instance. And yeah, we'll almost certainly get bummed by Man U but that wasn't the point I was disputing. Duff's "pace" is deveptive imo, it looks like hes running fast because of his low stance and frequent touches with the ball at feet, but he doesnt actually have real pace, and whatever pace he does have, he doesnt use effectively because hes turned into a gimp of a winger. Good example yesterday when he closed the fullback down, causing the fullback to slip, found himself with acres of space in front of him, yet gets caught by a player who was 5 yards behind him when he picked the ball up.
  14. Petrov has played some cracking passes/crosses today.

As in, you shouldnt blame or criticise a mentally disabled kid for being mentally disabled? I agree with that thinking. We know hes utter shit, so lets not kick up a fuss everytime he proves it.

Despite the s*** performances, I still think the only decent partnership we have is Smith playing just behind Martins - only because we dont have the right partner for Viduka, whilst theres no such thing as a good partner for Owen unless its someone who is good at playing up front on their own. But hes certainly one of the, if not the, most overrated players in the Premiership. Its suprising just how many sets of fans think hes a "good" forward, despite him never having looked it after the initial breakthrough where he merely did well for a youngster. But hey, I guess im being negatively biased and dont know my arse from my elbow because I dont rate Smith.
  18. Great example of the problem with Milner today. The cross today for the goal was certainly an excellent one, but hes been trying that all season with a massive failure rate. Like last season's "wonder" cross for Luque against Palermo, you can be sure that there'll be a couple of dozen s*** ones that get put in before he hits it into the right area with the right pace/bend on it with someone actually making a run in that area of the pitch. If he was producing a cross like that every game into the right area and accurately targeting a player in that zone of the pitch, then he would indeed be a good player - instead, its all hit and hope with him. The rest of the game was typical Milner. Good at beating his man with his little shimmies and drops of the shoulder, and generally had a decent game against Bouma who is a centreback, but it was typical Milner because after getting past his man, he either wastes the chance to put in a good cross or the defender catches up because hes relatively slow and unable to take advtange of the half yard hes opened up for himself. Hes a pretty big part of the problem with the current side, ie a team full of average to mediocre footballers who work hard but are excruciatingly slow/one paced and lack any true class or consistency, players who have one good decent every 5 or 6 because of said inconsistency, and all without providing the team what it truly needs in their respective positions meaning the team as a whole is simply s*** and ineffective. We have no ability whatsoever to counter attack because of these slow players, and being so average/inconsistent/hit-and-hope means that we have arent compensating for lacking that vital ability. Which is why we're being matched by mediocre teams and copmletely f***** over by anyone decent - what can we do if teams want to pile pressure and push up on us? Fuck all is the answer.
  19. Fuck me do we have a slow side. Biggest priority in the summer - purchase some pacey players. Doesnt matter if theyre not particularly good players, they just need to be decent and have a good amount of pace along with the ability to use it.
  20. Still think the best strike partnership we have from the current squad is Smith playing just behind Martins. Smith is a s*** targetman imo, too small and average in the air to be a strong aerial presence, but handy when dropping off and linking up because his touch is consistent. That compensates for Martins' inability to consistently link up with the midfield. Bring Owen off the bench.
  21. The cameraman didn't catch Duff and the defender when the ball was played, they were too far ahead of the play. How convenient. Looked miles on from where I was sitting, lush through ball from Charlie. yeah he looked on to me aswell but i sent me pa (who was watching on sky) a text asking and he said he was a 'fraction' off Replay was shown on Sky. Definately a fraction offside when Zog played the ball.
  22. This was the fear at the start of the season for some of us. Butt needed to be phased out because he was aging and his distribution was already poor at the time. Yet nothing was done. Why cant experienced professionals getting paid millions see something that is so fucking obvious? Its not rocket science, its not something that was hidden away, this isnt a view made from the convenience of hindsight, it was plain as day that Butt had reached the limits of his usefulness, and that a replacement was going to be needed this season because only a slight slowdown in his legs would see his game go downhill. Why the hell did we extend his contract anyway? Should have waited till the end of the season, made him play for the new contract, because no matter how good his form is, Butt is not capable of getting a move to a bigger or better club than ours. In fact, hes lucky to be here, because clubs were supposed to be competing with would never have him anywhere near the first team.
  23. Beye central defence, Faye central midfield, Carr keeps his place, because hes been the least shit of the three recently.
