Hence, "pretty much guarantees".
-
That's not true. A draw and we finish above Forest on GD. A Villa loss pretty much guarantees it.

I'm moving to Turkey a week too late for this one. 😕 From next weekend I'll legally be allowed to watch all the games, including the 3pm Saturday slot, from about £7.50/month. Used to be about £2.50 when I was there ten years ago but everything's gone up. Great timing with the season ending 😂 Ridiculous that the UK has such rules in place and the cost is so high. My folks have just binned Sky Sports and their bill went from about £150/month down to £35/month.

Ah of course. Less parachute payments.

I think the long-sleeved version is dreadful due to the change to stripes after the shoulder - looks like it's been patched together. In general the shirt looks better on the players than the leaked version but still pretty poor. The problem is shoe-horning a striped shirt into an Adidas template while simultaneously trying to do something different year on year. There's loads of people on here (not me) who could probably come up with something significantly better in half and hour, if they didn't have those restrictions.

Was just going to say this. Twenty years goes back to the Glazers so I get that, but Man U won the League Cup and finished third with 75 points two seasons back. This is like a gradual decline which turns into a cliff fall in the last two years - not quite coinciding with Ratcliffe and INEOS but not far off.

I want the Champions League of course as it's the premier competition and we're a good cup side now. I'm not saying we'd win it but we could get as far as Villa did this year. Would really help with the finances, club profile and player retention. However, if we do end up in the Europa I'll make my peace with it. We'd have a good chance of winning it which would bring UCL the following year, would be another trophy, bring in a decent amount of money, and would also raise the profile. The final being at BeÅŸiktaÅŸ would be big for me personally too if we were to get there. Would be more pressure to win it though and the games wouldn't be as big.

Is it fair to say that a Villa win on Sunday actually benefits Man Utd now, as with it they have a chance of shifting Rashford quickly to a Villa side with likely UCL football (and the money that comes with it). If Villa don't make UCL then surely that's a major suitor for Rashford gone?

As well as totally unlikeable players and aging, overpaid owners.
-
I was thinking the same. Ten Hag left them on 11 points after 9 games so it looks like Amorim has them 28 points from 28 games.
-
Go back just over a year and not one of them on Red Cafe (I know) were saying they'd swap Ten Hag for Eddie Howe. They pretty much all thought Howe was average. There were a couple of them on there last night saying they should sack Amorim and go for him now.

…into a headwind

Richarlison could have had a yellow for either deliberate handball or then delaying the game, about thirty seconds before he actually got a yellow.

If the maths above is correct that would mean it would have to finish 6-9 in the Forest Chelsea game. I won't worry about that at this point seeing as it's never happened in top flight history🙂

Couldn't it go on the glass/framework like the existing one in the other corner? Edit: Ah I see...

Officials announced: Referee: Tony Harrington Assistants: Dan Cook, Sam Lewis Fourth official: Tom Neild VAR: Paul Tierney. Assistant VAR: Wade Smith. Edit: First game of ours this season I think, but he did the 1-1 with Everton at home the year before as well as the 5-1 at home to Sheff U. The year before that he had the 1-0 at home to Everton so it seems to be the fixture he gets for us. His Premier league breakthrough season was 21/22 when he got three games in total, including our 1-0 home win against Palace. Looks like he's only ever reffed us at home. Grandad played for Hartlepool and he apparently supports them.

I'm confused. How does. Line 16 work?

I'm moving back to Beşiktaş next Friday so it'll be a handy one for me to get to at least 🙂 (Still hoping we're in the Champions League).

Just seen this now, but it reminds me of this photo from a local hairdresser's website, when Kate made the wrong jumper choice on social media day…

I'll be nervous on the day but at the moment in the cold light of day I'm feeling OK about Sunday. Would probably rather have our game than anyone else's. Man U are the worst of the various opposition but I'd take a home game over an away game. If Isak plays (even half fit) I'd fancy us. If we're playing Wilson or Gordon through the middle I'll be super nervous when that team drops.
-
I thought that considering we were missing Isak and Joelinton, we played really well. We obviously lacked threat and lost our way a bit for twenty minutes at the start of the second half, but the effort was there and we played some nice stuff at times. We deserved at least a draw and of course next week will be stressful, but I can't be too unhappy at today. A mistake from Gordon and a strike from Rice that goes in about two times out of ten. We defended really well apart from that.
-
The only realistic way Forest overtake us is if they win their last two, meaning we'd have to lose the last two with a GD of at least -5 for Chelsea to overtake us too. It's one or the other now. If we'd got a draw at Villa we'd be there now (although I appreciate every team can say something similar).

From PremierLeague.com: If any clubs finish with the same number of points, their position in the Premier League table is determined by goal difference, then the number of goals scored, then the team who collected the most points in the head-to-head matches, then who scored most away goals in the head-to-head.

Yeah, I'm Spurs all the way. Nice summary above. There's always a slight chance Levy keeps Ange if they win and this Spurs squad having to play Champions League under Ange would kill them next season. A Man U team that's finished just outside the relegation zone with no European football will need to (continue to) overpay on salaries to attract any top players even despite their name/heritage. If we can get in the Champions League then with Eddie and some decent investment this summer I'd fancy us strongly to finish above them both again next season.
