Not only that, but I believe the two games last season where we had no recognised striker (i.e. no Isak nor Wilson) were Bournemouth home and away. We started that way at home to Luton but at least we had Wilson on the bench. They got lucky with us last year.

Great save, but having seen the replay Watkins really should have given him no chance. Put it too close to him and gave him a chance.
-
Great advantage from Hooper on the Leeds first goal. Two great through balls. Not a bad game to be fair although there's only going to be one winner.
-
Porridge and Lenny Godber vibes here, for those of us over a certain age. If we were to appeal (we won't) I'd appeal on the grounds of both moved their heads, so going forward are we to instruct our players to hit the ground instantly, in the same situation? First to the ground "wins" and the other gets sent off? Try and get that in writing from the FA 😂

Feels like we're buying him on eBay. Those in the know at the club must have been quietly fizzing when Maguire went down injured and he got called upon as first choice at the Euros.

We came out of the hat next to each other as well, just in separate ties. They got Derby at home. My mate who supports them was pretty pissed off with that too.

It was last year. Don't think it's been a thing for long though. Edit: 2017/2018 appears to be the first year that the second round was regionalised. We still drew Forest and lost at home, 2-3.

Weird draw. So many of the northern ties were adjacent numbered balls coming out. If you didn't know better, you'd think they just lobbed the balls in quickly after the southern draw and didn't really mix them.
-
My best mate of 30+ years is a Barrow fan. It's the draw I always hope for.

When we draw Swansea away in the cup?
-
It should have been Andy Bell and Vince Clarke trying to get on at Peterborough. Would have been a great touch.
-
Listened to the second half yesterday - he did say that Osula is Dutch at one point too. It's a good job I'm not Ando as I'm such a pedant I'd have corrected him. 😂

Yıldız or Yılmaz? I thought Yılmaz was the player we've been linked to? Both are common Turkish surnames.

Yeah it was definitely a home game. I remember sitting in the Milburn stand and he pinged one down the line when everyone else was playing the ball normally and it was getting caught up in the wind. Had to be either Boro or Bristol Rovers as I missed the 2-2 with Port Vale as I was in sixth form and had a school event on that Saturday at Chillngham Castle. In my mind's eye the oppo were in red so probably Boro. Looking at those results, we didn't do that well in his six games - the last one was horrific and probably spelled the beginning of the end of Ossie. I remember listening to that on Metro Radio on New Year's Day. Charles Harrison's radio link went down and he did the first 45 minutes over the phone if I recall correctly.

If we're thinking totally forgotten, and can include loans, then Paul Bodin was decent in the six games he played for us. I remember one game that was played in really strong wind, he was the only player sensible enough to drill passes into players at pace.

Would seem unlikely, aye. He's 21 on Sunday, (older than Lewis Hall and others around the first team), and seems the perfect fit for third cenre forward cover.
-
I think they actually had more single injuries than us last year, just no one got close to us for actual days lost to injury. Edit: I stand corrected on both points from this: https://www.givemesport.com/every-premier-league-team-ranked-injuries-suffered/ Something I saw a few weeks back said we had most days/games missed, followed by Sheff Utd. Perhaps the other figure I saw included Tonali?

Nice of them to get Pope's actual shoulder location correct on the shop dummy.
-
Yeah...was thinking that as I read it.

Mind you, he also said that there are currently only two English managers in the Premier League - Eddie and Shaun Dyche. Gary O'Neil might have something to say about that.

Team just landed and taxiing. Would have been a three hour train ride for Gordon this morning from Berlin if he wanted to hook up with them.
-
Apologies if Giggs, but I've just discovered this: https://www.nonleaguefootballshop.co.uk/ Some great stuff in there. Their image for European/Overseas clubs/kits is just perfect.

Barry Venison's only goal for us v Villa was decent.

According to Wikipedia he also took Alan Smith to MK Dons from us - we're all allowed a few mistakes. 😂
