Nobody would have a problem if you could only hear them when South Africa are playing. But playing them at games of other teams is a complete lack of respect. Imagine if England were hosting the world cup, and at every game where england weren't playing you'd have all the locals chanting England songs. It's the same thing and nobody would stand for it. Why on earth do we need these morons 'expressing themselves' at games where their team isn't even fucking playing? Worst world cup I've had the misfortune of watching, thankfully it'll be remembred that way and we'll never have to put up with the same shite again.

Definitely remember reading that America and England had taken the most fans overall to the tournament. Could you here the fans last night or was it just vuvuzela noise? Couldn't really tell watching it on the bigscreen in town/being pretty drunk. I was in the same boat as you, no clue how the fans sounded. Could hear the England band and the occasional chant, as well as the odd 'U-S-A' from the yanks. Loudest song all game was god save the queen when somehow everyone stopped blowing those fucking vuvuzelas. Was still shite though.

The noise really doesn't annoy me anymore tbh, I just tune them out completely for the most part. What is bad and what somebody else mentioned in this thread is the way they destroy a proper atmosphere developing. Instead of chanting and the roar when a chance happens all you get is the constant droaning of the horns - it's boring if anything. Exactly, which is why I hate it. I love the World Cup for the passion shown by the huge crowds, not just the football. When a shot goes close all that happens now is an increase of volume of these mindless pricks blowing them constantly. Yeah agreed, not heard more than 1 different chant in each game, it's fucking shite. Glad we won't see another WC with those pieces of shite littering the stadium for a long, long time after this. Culture my arse.

I was a few rows back and a bit further away from the goal. Was down the front at full time though. Good atmosphere down there today, didn't feel like a proper game really. Aye, everyone seemed up for it and it was just a laugh, never laughed at a game so much. Saw coppers stood watching us sing rockin' all over the world and they were pissing themselves. Pitty the stewards and police were such cunts at the end mind, some steward landed a few punches on a fan apparently.

I love my ST in block D, goal celebraions are mental, had fuckloads of scratches and scrapes from being sent flying into seats. I don't think I could have a ST if I had to sit, last time I sat at a home game was when I swapped tickets with a mate and sat in the back of the Gallowgate a few seasons back when Citeh beat us 1-0. It was fucking horrible.

So as soon as we're promoted the hate for Ashley that's somehow been keeping them away suddenly vanishes does it? SJP does not need these fair weathered fickle fans. Give me 40k that care over 52k who just want to see top flight football. Admirable, but those 12,000 people paying £25 a game for 19 games next season would give us an extra £5.7m in revenue. Not all that much tbh. Overhyped league full of plenty of teams who struggle to bring 1,000 fans up here. Suppose there's a few good aways to look forward to of course, and the games against the mackems.
