  1. Not very well I don't think, I'm sure they just used to draw, all of the time. Hoddles stock has risen the longer he's been out of the game.
  2. Cabaye has backed him too.
  3. lets hope douglas, and wullie, are right. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/sport-opinion/newcastle-united-job-still-attractive-7874171
  4. Depends what you mean by 'choice'. Would I pick him in an ideal world? Would I f***, but i'd take him ahead of others from the pool we're likely to pick from. I also think we need someone who's going to keep us up, and I think he would. I just don't understand why anybody thinks that's the pool we'd pick from. Pardew was selected purely and simply because he has no spine and will do anything to please Mike. It's f*** all to do with his nationality. Tony Pulis, who resigned from Palace in a row over transfers, who sued Gillingham after being sacked, who was sacked by Stoke first time round after a big row with the chairman? Apart from Kevin Keegan, there's literally nobody less likely in world football to be offered the job, and nobody less likely to accept it. well, when you put it like that..... well we havent appointed foreign under ashley yet, what thinks we will now? We weren't buying solely from the continent back when Pardew was appointed either. There's been a big chance in policy since then. If Graham Carr has as much say as he's supposed to, I could very much see us looking to Europe - managers more used to these types of players, used to having their players bought and sold for them, used to bigger clubs pinching their players. Frank de Boer actually ticks every box as far as that goes, Ajax are one of the biggest selling clubs in Europe. theres got to be a salary issue as far as de boer is concerned though, surely?

  6. I know! Rosler gets a canny few mentions later on in the thread too. I was pushing martin Jol, hmm, not so sure after fulham.

  8. grim isnt it, but thats the pool we'll pick from i reckon!
  9. i ticked maclaren instead of pulis!
  10. macalren, clark, moyes, pulis, lennon, hoddle, sherwood, bruce, curbishley, mckay.
  11. can we reset the poll btw? Koeman, for example needs to be taken off, and macalren etc added.
  12. we can but dream. we, sadly, wont be going for anyone of his calibre, so I hope we go for someone established. Someone who has done it over a number of years in the prem, so its moyes, or, dare i say it, pulis for me (I like Pulis as a bloke, he's honest, which probably rules him out, and, for some reason, I think he'd 'get' it here). We cant go for the latest flavour of the month, nigel adkins and uwe rosler are two who I would have taken at one point, but wouldn't now. Laudrup the same tbh, Swansea binned him at teh same time as we should have binned pardew (as in, at the right time in his second season when he was starting to flop). Moyes or Pulis for me.
  13. Absolutely s**** last night. Let's hope he wants to f*** off to San lorenzo again soon.
  14. Shite last night, not sure how this thread has escaped critical posts. Guess it's easier to just hammer dummet.

    Paul Dummett

There's three others who were alongside hum who had worse performances than this lad last night. The football hipsters won't let you believe it, but janmaat was worse, as was our captain. Pointless even mentioning the other lad.
  16. People turning their noses up at moyes? In our current position? Ashley wants his head testing if he doesn't go and get him.
  17. Moyes wants the job according to tomorrow's mirror.
  18. He won't survive back to back defeats, and it's a matter of time before that happens, meaning it's a matter of time before he leaves.
  19. Fancy a pint before the game? Yeah, certainly could do mate. I'll pm you for your number.
  20. There's no joking there. The headline suggests it could be, the rest of the article suggests otherwise.
  21. Will be interesting to see pardew reaction tomorrow. He'll show himself to be a bugger coward than ever by laughing at 'Mikes' 'joke'. I'm going to Stoke, I hope we get fucking hammered.
  22. Does it not show that the talent is there, and it's just being mismanaged? whatever it shows, I dont like it, because its keeping him here.
