  1. If Sir Bobby had been given what Souness spent then I think we would have had a good chance, I'd put my life on it that we wouldn't be in the state that we are now. Or even worse, the state we were in 6 months ago. I have no doubt about that.
  2. If I was Allardyce I would have press clippings on the dressing room walls and tell the players to read them just before going onto the pitch. Nice idea. We have to get amongst them. Not so long ago they were lucky to get a 1-1. I'm starting to think we could do OK tomorrow, that's not a good sign.
  3. Saturday may have been 4 years of shite followed by a bloke with more cash than some countries and us not playing too well. My guess is that it's those reasons plus a few other things.
  4. If I was Allardyce I would have press clippings on the dressing room walls and tell the players to read them just before going onto the pitch.
  5. We have a great chance to stick a couple of fingers up to the media tomorrow, I hope we take it.
  6. All of these rumours remind me of the typical Alan Oliver transfer scoop, name everybody and hope a percentage comes good.
  7. Original idea, well spotted.

    The point of no return

Chris, Get that on the main site if it's not already on.
  9. Agreed, with a bit of luck it will also be the turning point.
  10. I can't understand people who seem to wallow in negativity, we've had a shit few years but we've got to move on, how long will it be before we're the ones being laughed at for holding vigils for dead chickens? I'd love to see St James' become the ground it was just a few years ago, it's up to us now but it will not happen until we change. Quite a few people say that we need the players to give us a lift while others say that the fans are not lifting the players. What if it's right and it is down to the fans? We'll only find out if we change the ways which have become the norm for the last 4 years or so. People who are thinking of going to boo tomorrow need to think long and hard about it, it will not cost you any more or any less to get in if you help create an atmosphere and it just might help to get us back where most of us claim we want to be, it’s worth trying. You can still enjoy yourself, even if the match is shite.
  11. I get as frustrated as anybody with some of his tinkering and formations but it's too early to give up on him. I'm going to back him and see what he can do because he deserves that from us. He had the balls to take the job on when nobody else was likely to come within a million miles of the club. I thought he was as good as we could get and probably better than we deserved because of the way the club was being run. I'm happy to call for the sacking of the manager when I'm sure he's wrong for us but I don't feel that way about Allardyce yet so I'm going to back him and see if a bit of positive support changes things for the better because I don't think we're helping if we drag the negativity on until he's forced out. I think the chairman will decide what happens regardless of how we feel so we might as well try to do whatever we can to turn things around, I’d personally rather do that than sit around hoping that we sack another manager, possibly too early again and before he’s had a chance to prove himself. If Allardyce fails then we all fail because we’re back to square one and looking for another manager. We’ve had a bit of a transitional period and I doubt that will go on forever, it will always be the case if we change managers as often as we have and I’m sick of watching football played by teams who don’t know what’s expected of them because they don’t know the manager.
  12. As strange as it might seem, I think Souness possibly did, they just couldn't do what was required.
  13. OK, change cretin to shit manager and it's sorted.
  14. Would a big red nose on mine do? Edit, sorry it's already got one.
  15. As long as we do it a second or two before full time.
  16. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2007/12/03/defiant-sam-stands-firm-72703-20196520/ Alan Oliver might as well accept what we will have to accept, Allardyce is going nowhere. We might as well all get behind him and try to make the best of the situation, he's not Souness or Roeder, he's put faith in us by coming here and we should show some back. The other two cretins mentioned in this post were going nowhere and had nothing to lose by coming here, Allardyce did.
  17. Irrelevant, the axe isn't about to fall.
  18. OK, so how can we change it? By that I mean the atmosphere.
  19. I think I agree, I would love to see something done about it although we still had a good atmosphere before the ground was expanded to 52,000.
  20. To be honest the printed article isn't tomorrows chip wrapper, it's todays bog paper. Was the shit at the end a part of the article?
  21. I don't want to knock Milner but he's got nothing that N'Zogbia hasn't got except that he's possibly more two footed.
  22. Carr is injured, rest easy.
  23. I'm not sure what you mean by lately, he had a mare at Derby.
  24. I feel sorry for the fans that weren't around to understand just how good the atmosphere was even when we were really shite, it's a pity we couldn't work out how to get it back. My guess is that it's either the shape of the ground although before we had the East Stand we had a bank where people stood so the noise could just go straight out of the ground. If it's not the shape of the ground then it's the people now going or the lack of standing.
