  1. Technically you probably could but I doubt anybody would be daft enough to do so.
  2. Thanks, I turned it off once we'd been on, it sounds like a good idea after seeing this.
  3. Is it more than a coincidence that the arrival of Bellamy and Robert was the beginning of our change of fortunes for the better and the two of them leaving took us in the opposite direction?
  4. Would somebody explain what this thread is about?
  5. I'd expect we'd have sold thousands less season tickets if we didn't have Mort at the club today. So far Ashley and Mort have been spot on with every decision they've made and are suffering for what happened before they arrived.
  6. Don't leave me out, I haven't got a clue either.
  7. Beye looked a bit shaky when he first came into the team but he's getting better by the game, at least Carr finally seems to have become no more than a player used as cover. I don't want to knee-jerk but Beye could turn out to be a very good player for us if he keeps playing like this.
  8. We haven't done too badly with our French left wingers.
  9. Some people are being too critical about how we played today, after the game on Wednesday winning was more important than the performance. We’ve played better but we gave so much on Wednesday that today was always going to be a bit of a slog at times. Some need to remember the reasons given by Wenger for them not getting 3 points against us. We did enough in the first half today to have had the game in the bag and we let Birmingham have more of the game in the second half but the players still had the desire and balls to go on and get the points. We’ve had a good two games and taken 4 points from them, I’m happy with that.
  10. I don't agree that he was shit in the end, he just couldn't work with Souness. Souness dropped him and we were shit as a team after that, the fans put Souness under massive pressure to play him and the teams performances got better when Souness brought him back. We did well in the UEFA Cup until Robert was dropped because of something he said in the papers and we went out of the UEFA. I still think that we could have done better if Souness had put the club before his ego and played Robert.
  11. I agree about Luke but he gets a bit sensitive at times, I've had a bite or two out of him.
  12. Tom, if it's a 9 hour round trip you can set off tomorrow, go now and you'll be far too early.
  13. Same team + same atmosphere = better result.
  14. If football is to have this group of clubs getting together then face reality, we'd be better off as a club in rather than out.
  15. It's brilliant that we seem to have got over the negativity, it helped the players and we all benefit from that, we need to keep it going, maybe we'll see some better stuff from the players if they think they can make a mistake and get away with it.
  16. I was also born in the Green, I can't remember anything about it though.

    Alan Smith

I'm really pleased for him, he's a model professional and will always give 100%, he's an asset when played up front and also allows a better player to go into midfield.

    Sack the manager

    Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  19. Commitment, stopping Arsenal, heads didn't go down, put Arsenal under pressure, stepped up a gear in 2nd, unlucky not to win, relieved to get a point, terrific performance, kept going for win. Wenger said they didn't play well mainly down to Newcastle. That'll have to do, I'm not a bastard typist.
  20. I've just seen Allardyce on SSN, to those who think he doesn't care, bollocks.
  21. I think the people doing the knocking have probably created a bit of a siege mentality. Long may it continue.
  22. You're right, Smith played the way I remember him during his time at Leeds, not a goal scorer but does so much damage with his all out play, he must play up front after what he's shown tonight, by far his best game for us. Taylor could have had 3 and typifies what we needed from the players tonight, he showed so much that we’ve been missing for the last few games, a desire to win and a determination to get something from the game. Milner played well, he’s not the quickest in the world but he’s got a massive heart and never gives up. Beye was the best at the back, he looked shaky when he first came but he’s grown in each game he’s played. The only real negative for me is Roz, he’ll probably not get a game when everybody is fit. All in all it was only one point from a draw but it felt like a victory and if we’d had a bit of luck it would have been. Allardyce has restored my faith in him a bit tonight, he could have played Enrique at left-back and N’Zogbia on the wing but that might not have worked. The fans were up for it tonight, I hope we can take this into the game on Saturday, if we do we’ll bag three points. An excellent nights work and a bit of a surprise.
