  1. It was his debut, the weather was scorching that day.
  2. It's one of the only things I remember, that and the Chelsea fans trying to get on the tube at Fulham Broadway only to see a few of our fans try to get off and the Chelsea fans legged it. And the scrap yard in the corner of the shed, am I right in thinking that the two sets of fans in our end were separated by a corrugated iron fence?
  3. We started singing we want 4, then 5 and 6, I can't remember singing we want 7, I think we bottled tempting fate at that stage. I'm on about Chelsea, not Everton.
  4. I don't have a problem with that, they moderate so they should decide how to do it, I don't like all of the rules but that's just tough.

    Derek Boateng

Yes, 4 minutes ago in another thread.
  6. It was worth a try, the one you got is better than the one we ended up keeping, at least he was when he was here.
  7. We might have a fat Irish one going on the cheap if you're interested?
  8. It would have been better with floating £'s.
  9. "With Liverpool demanding £12 million for Bellamy" They'll not get that either.

    true and funny.

His wife will be popular if she goes around shouting his name.
  11. Fair point, I suppose. Wish we all got monthly holidays just to take the family away, but yeah, fair point. How many weeks a year holiday does he get though? I assume its all in one go and most of us in "normal" employment will get at least 20 days off a year. and the lucky git gets to work Xmas and new year, wish i could. I'm gutted for him, I bet he'd prefer working in some dirty little shithole of a factory for minimum wage.
  12. Agreed, it's not what you spend that matters, it's what you get.
  13. The point is that we can see and end to it, things don't always go to plan but at least we can see a glimmer of hope, that wasn't possible as little as a month ago.
  14. If these figures being mentioned are true then Allardyce is going into uncharted waters as he's never been a big spender. This might be his biggest problem as manager of Newcastle, let's just hope he puts some good scouts to work because a lot of hard work is going to be needed, sometimes it's easier to hide behind having no money than it is to spend well, Keegan managed it but a lot have failed, Souness for 1.
  15. Nobody really cares about points, it's about league position, you get nowt for 90 points if somebody else gets 91, league position is all that matters. Of course points are what determines your final position but they're unimportant after that.
  16. It's not the Sun, it's the Sunday Sun, not that they're much better, I think the same figures are also in the Sunday Mirror. Would two journalists make up the same story with the same figures?
  17. The Sunday Sun is one of at least two papers running the exact same figures.
  18. I started to read some of the posts, got half way down the first page and pressed the big red X in the top right corner.
  19. 13th is bad enough, don't make it any worse than it actually was.
  20. I don't think that he can turn this down, too many supporters are against him. He would be strung up if he knocked this offer back and we were struggling early next season, I'm starting to think that he's going and he'll know it.
  21. I agree about Thompson House in general, the only thing is that the same things are being reported at the same time in different papers, no smoke without fire.

  23. Yeah. Woops, I thought they'd scored in the 37th.
