I know some people think we didn't play very well today, I enjoyed it.
-
Agreed, they would have had somebody sent off in the first half if we were a bit more clever as they couldn't handle him on the ball.
-
I hope that he does and is backup to Debuchy.
-
No doubt I'm in the minority but I thought he was OK and helped us win the game.

He's just so good and he's ours.

I can't wait for this now, I just wish it was a 3pm kick off because I don't want to wait the extra 2 1/2 hours. -
Christ. David Steen @davidsteen4 @jose3enrique3 to avoid a repeat each player be educated on the Hillsborough tragedy when signing..was an honest mistake though by Jose

I've had 2 since Monday and still waiting for 2 to arrive for the same stand coming to the same address.

The obvious answer is yes.

The season tickets will all be manufactured in one go to keep costs down. The club can't do anything until they have all of the applications in and then they'll pass a design on to the manufacturer along with a database containing all of the season ticket holders details. The chips need to be programmed with the seat details and the cards also need to be printed with the same information. Every club who uses the card system will be doing the same thing at the same time and I doubt that many companies produce the card because of the lack of demand for them other than football clubs. The card manufacturers will be the hold up.

Actually, why could they not send them to all postcodes at the same time? Normally a mass mailing only gets staggered if you have something in the mass mailing which requires people to contact you and you only have so many people to answer calls. A company might hire a call centre for a week or two and they'll only have a certain amount of people to answer calls. Because of this they will stagger the delivery so that they spread the call centre workload and don't have people ringing up and not getting through.

That makes sense, I go with 3 other people and none of us have them yet.

If we're going to play what if's then a backup keeper is needed because I wouldn't fancy having to play too many games with Harper or Elliot. As it is, our main weakness if we play our strongest 11 is at right back. If Senegal qualifies for the Africa Cup of Nations we'll be relying on Shola for up to 6 weeks of the season as our first choice goal scorer and the thought of that leaves me with shivers. Currently our strongest area of the pitch is midfield and while strengthening that area is good, it's the last area of the pitch which needs it in my view. I would be much happier relying on fringe players in that area of the pitch than any other.

I don't see why Marveaux can't play in the centre of midfield for a few games, even though I think he'd be far more suited to playing wide. The kids may not be up to playing too many games but they are going to have to play sometime or they'll never progress and I'd rather take a risk in midfield than in defence or up front. The only time we'll know if the kids are good enough is by playing them, we don't need to play the kids for a full season as we have Tiote and Cabaye. Like I've said, if we bring in the other players that we need then this is a good signing.
-
Our only backup to our two main forwards is an injury-prone 1 goal in every 5 games player. I'd prefer to use any of Abeid, Marveaux, Bigirimana or Amalfitano in midfield for a few games than have to rely on Williamson again at the centre of defence.
-
Smith made 2 sub's appearances so replacing him shouldn't be a priority, upgrading players who played games should be. If we get an upgrade on Simpson, bring in a forward to replace Best and Lovenkrands as well as strengthening the centre of our defence then Anita will be a good signing. If we fail to do any of those then we’ve got our priorities wrong.
-
Signing Anita at the minute doesn't make any sense at all and the position he plays would be 4th on my list of positions to strengthen, at best.

Bobbys firstvgame? Yes.

ESPN Classic now, Newcastle v Sheff Wed.

How will it cost us any points? If he does sign late it will not make any difference as he'll have Cabaye and Ben Afra playing on the same side of the pitch as him and he knows those two well. He'll be fine as all he has to do at the minute is gain fitness and sharpness which he can do with his current club.

I have felt all of the way through that we'll get him and nothing has changed for me except that we're probably closer to the end. I think he's probably worth £6 million and we might end up paying that to get him but I don't have a problem with trying to get him on the cheap if at all possible. In the past we've paid too much in an attempt to get who the manager wanted and it's done us no good and took a relegation to sort out our finances. We're not going to do what some people on here want and just bid high so people might as well accept it and relax.
