Funny that since 51,998 thought Shepherd was a c***.

Also don't disguise the fact that Derby registered 1 premiership victory in a full season and Allardyce was the architect of that, he was found out here.

Any instability that we may have had was made a lot worse by the bloke who brought Saunders here. Souness and Saunders were shite and they have nobody to blame but themselves. They were given more backing than I would have given them, they did a shite job and they are looking to shift the blame.

That's what I was getting at and that's where I think we might have a weakness with our current setup.
-
I think Keegan is much more relaxed than first time around, even during our bad start I felt he was working out what was going on rather than showing any emotion. That clip where he tried to squirt the water was insignificant but it showed to me that his hearts still in the game and this club means a lot to him. I can’t wait for him to get his players in and see what he produces for us next season, I’m expecting a good one, probably the best since Bobby left.

I might have rose tinted specs but I think the area will sell for players, it's got loads going for it if we're bringing players in who want more than a smoke filled city.

Rightly or wrongly, you look like you're always trying to cover the same stuff in every thread, have a look at your posts over the last few weeks. I've got no problem with what you're saying in here but it doesn't need to be said in every thread and I'm trying to be constructive saying that. You often have good points but they get lost as you look to be trying to put the club in its current setup down without giving it a chance.

I disagreed about his boot room and him asking Shearer why he wanted to sign for the club as it was Keegan telling Shearer why he thought that Shearer should sign for us. I haven't disagreed about his involvement in possible transfers, it could be key to us making signings.
-
We'll have to agree to disagree because I don't think the three wise men will do a good enough job selling the area and no matter what others think it's very important as a player will train for 2 or 3 hours a day and play once or twice a week. Other than that they have more free time than most of us on here and they need things to do during those free periods. The 3 people who are involved will be able to rattle off a load of names but they'll not know anything like a local who knows the area well. I probably know more about the areas they come from then they know about here and I couldn't go into too much detail about London even though it came up regularly in school and is all over the TV. I think they will do a good job at selling where the club is trying to go but I think they will be lacking in a lot of details which could swing a signing, something I hope Keegan will bring to the table.
-
I don't think I would take issue about Keegan talking to players as I would hate to think that he wasn't involved although I don't think he should also do the scouting of players or the negotiation of transfer details. I think the two lists of names that we had produced is a good idea especially as Keegan has been away from the game for a while and only been at the club a matter of months. I agree about Keegan having to be involved in transfers, I think he'd finalise more deals than lose out to the competitors, especially those outside the top 4.

Sunshine The point I'm trying to make is that I don't think Tony Jimenez, Dennis Wise or Jeff Vetere know enough about Newcastle to sell the area to a potential signing. If they do get somebody to do the preperation for them then we'll see in the coming weeks if they can bring the players to the club. These three can probably identify players and sort out contracts to bring them here but if it comes to selling the club then I think they will have problems because of a lack of knowledge, this is where Keegan would do a brilliant job, if used. If we're relying on Vetere, Wise or Jiminez reading from a script then I think we'll have problems.

OK, I like fly fishing and diving, find me the best two places for this around here, the clocks ticking.
-
I like the combination we had at the end of last season as all three brought something different with them, it must have been a nightmare for the opposition defence trying to defend three different styles of play.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing either of them come here at the right price if Viduka was going.
-
Would you not be concerned about his injury record?
-
The only problem I have with our current scouting/purchasing setup is that none of them know this area so how the hell do they sell the club to a foreigner who probably hasn't got a clue what it's like? They may visit the club but they'll probably only see what is on the route from the airport and possibly a quick trip into the city centre.
-
Agreed, I think different players want different things. Some will want to feel wanted, some will just want money, others will want a lifestyle which fits whatever circumstances they have at the time. A player who is married with no kids might want London, a player with kids might want something away from a city where his kids can get out and about.

I was shitting every time we gave something away in our half.
-
Who took your corners and free kicks against us at Goodison? I've got to admit that I thought every one was a danger to our defence.

Beardsley scored another goal like that one, I think it was against either Carlisle or Man City.
