The only great thing about our club is the 52,000 mongs who turn up every other Saturday and the 5,000 or so who travel away on a regular basis. We've got a good ground but that has done nothing for us so far and after that I'm struggling to see what we have over the other clubs. Having said that, most of the other clubs in the league don't have that so we do have something that most don't have but we need a pot of some kind. 39 years without any trophy, 53 years without a domestic trophy, and 81 years without a league championship all tell the story of a club which has underperformed on a major scale.

I'd have him for under £5 million on realistic wages, I can't understand why people would see him come here for more than that though as we’ve got more than our fair share of overpaid crocks who are a drain on the club and offer little in return for the original outlay plus high wages.

I'm not sure they had an option but honour the contract, the money has been spent long ago.

You can go in the singing end and not bother singing, you'll still get the reductions. How do pay more for not singing?

People are not paying more because they don't sing, they are just not getting the reductions. We have different charges around the ground anyway so this will be no different.

They got at least one thing wrong, he wasn't paid by the hour as he had a 12 month salaried contract reported to be worth £1 million. Mort was on roughly a third of what Smith earned yet scored the same number of goals and was only about 2 shots on target behind him.

Being chairman isn't a job where you need to spend 24/7 in the office and we don't know how much time he's spent up here considering he's supposed to have 2 houses, one in London and one up here. He may have been in London most of the last 12 months for all we know.
