I'm over the moon that Rooney has lost his smile, he looked like a squashed tennis ball.

Ginola at home to Ferencvaros, or whatever they were called.

You don't know what's happening, our second choice might be better but more expensive than the first choice for all we know.

He's OK, he's done 5 months and accrued 2 days per month so he's taken the full 10 days now but will be working Christmas instead.
-
He'd score more than Smith.

Looks like NE5 and Mick. It's funny that you mention me, I was behind the goal that day. Our fans were going mental with the officials because of what happened everytime jones went near Gazza.

I'd agree with most of that as I think every player has a price, if Real Madrid were mad enough to offer Man U £60,000,000 as has been mentioned then they would be equally as mad if they turned it down. It doesn't matter if you like what people think of you or not, with your logic Real Madrid would be ambitious while Man U were not. You come across that way even if it's not the way you think and I'm not trying to have a go at you.

He bleeds black & white.

Why should I? been a fan even when it is as bad as now, you do not go running away. Yes, will continue to support even when we are relegated. Anyway, i really prepare myself for a similar scrappy campaign next season. In any case, been expecting that for a few seasons to that extent it becomes kind of norm for us to be scrapping in the bottom half. Does not mean i am not a fan if i acknowledge how weak we are, it just a matter of realism and managing expectation not to get disappointed. This is partly why i am delighted with our finish this season as mentioned earlier at the start of this current season, i think i am the only few to expect that we will be in a relegation fight this season despite the "good" clearout; i said (which was proven right) we have a weaker team than when we have the JJs and Dyers. If we are not going to make any good signings, we will be weaker than before and only common sense that we will struggle not accounting for the facts our midtable rivals like Spurs will strengthen. Anyway, enough of this pple bashing me, i am just being realistic and to those who think we are still the Newcastle of old, get real!!!!!

Before this broke I felt we needed 2 quality signings in midfield, after hearing this I still think we need 2 quality signings.

I think it's got more to do with what people thought that he could do rather than what he actually did do.

That's a bit over the top, I've made 4 posts in a 15 page thread. 1 post about Ginola costing less than the Diane offer (if true), 1 about Clough not always getting value for money, 1 about the transfer window and the last about how much Bobby Robson spent and generated. Edit, I missed a post where I said I knew nothing about Diane but trusted the new setup.

20 full games for every player would mean we needed more than 2 full first teams just to get through the league games, add possible cup runs and we'd need something like 60 players.

Bobby Robson had the least amount to speand (net) per year than any manager since Keegan first time, I'm not sure how much he (Keegan) had. Robson must have paid for the transfer budget that he was given many times over as he only had just under £6 million per year yet he took us from 13th in the league gave us a couple of 11th places, then 4th 3rd and 5th. Using the 2 13th places as a starting point he generated £15,500,000 through higher league places which takes care of more than 50% of what he spent. The clubs income went up from £45,100,000 during 2000 when Bobby took over to £90,200,000 during his last full season, Bobby paid for what he spent and more. Bobby was also the manager who took us to our best ever finish in the CL, that season we generated an income of just over £96,000,000, a record to this day. The signing of Cort looked good when he was fit and scoring, his injuries were the problem.

I don't think Emre has played 75 games for us and he's been here for 3 seasons.
-
That sounds like a load of shite from the fella you were talking to.
-
He'll only show his talents if fit, something he didn't manage to do enough while here, sadly he'll not be missed.

Would that be the same Terry Gibson who played for Spurs?
