  1. That's rich coming from a Newcastle fan with a soft spot for Hartlepool.

    Now what?

I must admit that I enjoyed our Intertoto games, I'd much rather play those types of game than a meaningless friendly. Watching football on a warm summer’s day is also better than sitting in a freezing ground in January.
  3. How much time would Mort need to spend here to be chairman? I've worked at companies where the chairman hardly ever walked through the door.
  4. This will be interesting considering we've brought nobody in and have had a dodgy few weeks.
  5. A poll of stay or go wouldn't be a bad idea to see how people feel on the matter, not that it will make the slightest difference.
  6. I can understand it if he wants to go back to his family, he'll have to take them into consideration but I don't think it's the best option for the club because a new chairman could come in and change everything and we'll be back to this time last year.
  7. I don't think we need more change at the club at this time, we need stability.
  8. This is just a rumour, he might still be chairman if he renews his contract, we only took him on for a limited period but we could still extend that period if it suits both parties.
  9. I'll also stop, nobody is going to win and it doesn’t matter whichever side is right because it doesn't make the slightest difference to our current situation or history. I’ll admit that I go to extremes in this argument but I think most, if not all of us do and I would bet that we’re not that far off if we gave an honest opinion on the past, present and future.
  10. Possibly although he hardly played for us. Hardly played for for us as was always in the reserves, playing teams like Sheels. Didn't Bob Stokoe take him to the mackems?
  11. It was quite a while ago, I think I'm probably confusing two games because the game I seem to remember was early to mid 70's while Milburn had his testimonial years earlier and Bobby definitely played in that game, so did Jack.
  12. I think he did, first half for them second for us.
  13. I'm pretty sure it's not, David had a parting on the left from what I can remember and was thinner.
  14. I'm sure I remember us playing Man U in a testimonial and Bobby played half the game for us.
  15. I met them both when I was a kid and found them both to be likeable, I was even coached by Jack a few times. Bobby was a brilliant player but I didn't see an ego at all although that may have been because I was too young to see it or maybe he just didn't have an ego at all. Bobby lacked a sense of humour which his brother more than made up for as he seemed to have more than enough for two.
  16. You can have him for that, we'll also throw in Smith and Duff for nothing.
