  1. He needs to be faster, react quicker to passes. Should've been on top of that Atsu pass...
  2. Joselu would have scored that

    Ki Sung-gone

News in Korea that he's heading back to Newcastle early due to his Hamstring.

    Ki Sung-gone

Ki's a solid player. Good passing range, won't ever lose the ball. Keeps the team very tidy and the ball moving. He was sensational for a season or two, because he seemed to have all of his technical qualities now, but also had non-stop hard running under him. He's lost a bit o that dynamic running capability now. Still, at least as much quality as Diame but gives us something different, Diame will be box to box allowing Shelvey to play deep-lying playmaker, Ki will be the solid deep-lying midfield sweeper who allows Shelvey to get more forward and control the attack. Ki is like a Shelvey with a harder tackle and more running, but perhaps not as much creativity. I imagine Rafa being able to rotate Diame and Ki next to Shelvey very effectively depending on what kind of game-plan he has for each game. Watch him, you might be underwhelmed now, but his quality will shine through over a season, mark my words.
  5. Perez looks properly tired, not running for counters, not closing down in defence anymore.
  6. Must equally be mental factors as much as physical and technical. You probably forget how to play and pick up loads of bad habits when you play for Pardew and Carver for too long....
  7. They are essentially the spanish versions of Chopra and Ameobi
  8. Joselu must be the master of goals that wobble in, that's 2 out of 2 now. Hasn't scored one that he hit with any conviction.
  9. Amazing how the very two positions Rafa wanted strengthened (striker and goalkeeper) continue to punish us this season.
  10. Surely an outsider would have thought this about us too though. Didn't work out that way for us, and see no real indication that it will for West Ham.
  11. Gave us a two goal swing yesterday. Turned what could've become a hairy game into an easy win.
  12. We're going down aren't we? :'( Want to have some hope, but struggling to find it...
  13. Harsh on Mitro to categorise him in the same bucket as Shelvey. Shelvey was brain-dead yesterday, and decided with full intent to stamp on a player. That to me is a massive character flaw of Shelvey, that requires a lot of growing up and character development to suppress. Usually with Mitro, it's more a case of him being over-passionate, wanting to prove himself in the minutes he gets and finding it hard to control the fire and desire to compete. But never a stupid intentional decision to break the rules with an offence that results you getting sent off. Also Mitro has shown improvement in his discipline.
  14. He didn't at Bournemouth. 1 game man and it's not even finished. He's one of the few, if only players we have that has played consistently at this level before...
  15. OMG this never happens for us. It's usually always against us, what's going on!!!!
  16. Delightful, one of those 'papering over the cracks' games that seem to always prolong his already-doomed tenure. Let's hope he picks up a couple of wins like this here and there, so he stays at the helm long enough for palace to get relegated.
  17. Should've went for him after the end of 2012/13. IMO. Someone capable for 2004/5 instead of Souness surely, when all the rot started for the very first time. Agreed. It wouldn't have been Rafa though, he was at Liverpool when the club handled the Sir Bobby situation very badly. Exactly, we took Sir Bobby for granted and it took the board 10+ years, two ownerships and multiple recruitment policies to realise he was never replaced properly. =(
