I think we're slightly stronger as it is if Cisse can refind his form down the middle. Even when Cisse does play in the middle though we will miss the physical presence of Ba which breathes down defenders' necks. Cisse is a poacher and with better service and link up play down the right flank he might just start firing again. We definitely need to sign another striker though. Someone who can physically threaten and destabilise opposing defences as a plan B to Cisse when our game is not flowing. Shola has presence but he is far too slow. We need a new striker with both pace and strength (such as Ba) to offer us something different.

HOLY FUCKING YES...You know I think our run of bad form shocked Ashley into spending some cash. Our bad start to this season could actually benefit us in the long run (I'm speaking of next 2 seasons here). Pardew repeatedly said that they took a gamble this year and it failed and that now he needs some cash. Hopefully a sign of better things to come.

Have to agree with you there. He's not a destroyer. It's just that as a young player perhaps without the confidence of stroking the ball around in his earlier performances, we noticed his body strength and his tackling first. He's definitely more of an an Anita rather than a Tiote.

Marveuax is our only player on the pitch that knows exactly what he wants to do with the ball. He doesn't need to look up or hesitate. His touches/passes are instant and premeditated. The rest of our players seem to just 'give it a go' and see how it works. In that sense he's the ideal replacement for Cabaye in terms of our link up play.

I think it's time to sell and move on. His goals haven't resulted in us climbing the table. He is scoring but our team isn't working coherently and I believe that it's partly due to Ba's selfishness on and off the pitch. Even without his goals I think we'll finish higher in the league with a coherent front three consisting of Cisse and HBA (and another player) that works together for the team. We're getting to the point now where Ba is destroying the greatest asset we had last season which allowed us to overperform and that is team-spirit.
