I reckon Harry'll stay put. He's settled on the south coast now - he has a big house there.

So why arent you taking up cudgels on behalf of Smoggies when rival fans were chanting about "Your a town full of child molestors" over the child abuse thing some years back ? Or the scousers who got a lot of nastiness in the wake of the Jamie Boulger case ? Wrong colour or religion of victims, perhaps ? Treat it all the same, or not at all. I'm sorry but that's a pompous load of pish. The question was 'Is it racist'? The answer is 'Yes' for the reason I outlined. I'm not taking up cudgels on anyone's behalf, I'm answering the question.

The word 'just' makes it racist. However, Brit(ain) Scot(land) Paki(stan) means that it shouldnt have negative connotations. Unless 'Brit' is offensive. how does the word just make it offensive? i don't understand why everyone gets so defensive about things like this when people sing the fulwell end...do people start huge threads about it? no-one sang pakis are C***s which would be racist, and which i would totally disagree with It's not the word it's the context. The phrase You're just a town full of Pakis makes it clear that being a town full of Pakis is a bad thing and a reason to take the piss.

We are consistently at the top of the injured charts. Clubs like Wigan are consistently near the bottom, and when they do have injuries, they still accrue points. Injuries are a problem for most teams, especially ones that are in Europe, but they're not an excuse for poor management and incompetence, which were the hallmarks of Souness's tenure. Even with a fit squad, and lots of lady luck, we'd still have been shit under Souness and his big band of clowns.

Firstly i need to make sure you're not another hooligan idolising, constantly lying, cry baby complaining, moderator pestering poster? oh for God's sake, belt up - do you realise how pathetic that sounds?

Are you implying there might be a "back door man" amongst them? bluebiggrin.gif Just say that they probably enjoy each others company. When they were invited round for a roast, do you think any of them were expecting a nice plate of dinner rather than their mate's meat and 2 veg? bluebiggrin.gif

They'll do well to complete by the end of January, especially if due diligence is only half way complete and they've yet to agree a price with the Halls and Freddy. I wonder if this'll affect January transfers?

Plenty of deals fall down at the due diligence stage. It's the equivalent of kicking the tyres and looking under the bonnet. There's a long way to go before they agree a deal by the sound of it.

That article is a master class on filling a page without actually saying anything of any interest

With my mate watching? In his jumper? No thanks! bluebigrazz.gif I understand that M & S will now be cancelling Martin Woods' jumper modelling contract bluebigrazz.gif Yeah but from what the lass said, he might get a contract with Littlewoods. bluebiggrin.gif

only 4 clubs have qualified for europe more than us. Fact. Are you going to defend the failed share issue of 1991, such is how the club has grown since the 1992 takeover - or continue avoiding it or telling outright lies. I'm convinced there's a Mick bot and an NE5 bot auto-replying to each other....

Baba shouldn't be anything other than cover after January. We'd be so much stronger with decent pacy full backs who can defend. You get a glimpse of the benefit we'd get with Nobby's playing at right back - not a regular right back but so much better than Carr imo. Also my impression is that Carr and Baba are injured a lot, so it's not as if they're even dependable, and we can play a settled back 4 with them around. If Roeder thinks Baba is good enough, he shouldn't be coaching let alone managing, imo.

I'm hoping Glenn-da is looking at the left back position as an absolute top priority to fill in January. Well done to the lads for the 3 points

Neville Southall's comeback plans have just been cancelled bluebiggrin.gif

Wasn't that Sava for Fulham? Yeah, I think you're right Fulham not Blackburn

Fair points and it isn't a waste of time at all, unlike responding to people with agendas etc It is true that Owen had had a fair few niggling injuries. Be honest though, and when we signed him, most of us were delighted, whether you considered him as a replacement for Bellamy [expensive] or Shearer [as near as dammit to anyone anywhere]. I don't think he had had any injuries like the ones he has had since he joined us, he has not been out for a season anyway. Shearer also had a career threatening injury at Blackburn, then he proceeded to have 2 more after he joined us ? Would you consider him to be a risk ? The only reservation we should have about Owen is his committment to Newcastle, not his ability that is without question. I suspect though that if he comes back the same as he was and we can put a good team around him he will come to be a real Newcastle player and respond to the adulation he would get if he performs. I'm not so sure it was a case of all the eggs in one basket when we bought him, how can it be when we were in europe and expecting to stay near and with the other top teams ? In THAT position, players like Owen are what you want. My own personal take on him is that he was signed as the long term replacement for Shearer, and the club need a Bellamy type lower profile player to play alongside him, obviously for less money as we can't afford 2 such priced forwards. I think Bellamy and Owen together would have been brilliant, on a par with Cole and Beardsley ie two fast players keeping the ball down as opposed to 2 more physical players ie Shearer and Ferdinand. Bellamy would have been the perfect partner for Owen. Anyway mate, he's been very badly injured and now we just have to hope he comes back the same and gives us something back. In the short term though, the club needs a player in January to step straight into the team, and that player needs to be a player who can lead the line and play outside the box, along with scoring a few goals, because looking ahead to when Owen returns, this is the type of player he needs to be paired up with. Not much to ask is it :winking: Can't disagree with much of that, and especially agree with the final paragraph. I feel dirty  I can't find much fault with yours either, its such a refreshing change to have a proper open minded debate without agendas and cliches all over the place. Andy Pipkin's been groomed bluebiggrin.gif

blueyes.gif Pound for pound the shittest goal celebration ever seen imo - he obviously gave it a lot of thought and look at what he came up with. Mind you that lad from Blackburn with the mask down his sock ran it a close second in my book.
-
I have a horrible feeling he will put Carr in, drop Milner to the bench for a rest and put Solano on the RW. Carr at RB could cost us the match imo.

Are you trying to tell us that Garth is a gentle lover, Parky? My guess would be Parky likes it rough bluebigrazz.gif
