  1. canny high marks considering they got beat!!
  2. Some folk must think they're better than Greggs judging by the amount who start queuing up for them 5 mins before half-time ends!! Nah, they're just NEARER than Greggs. lazy bastards....nae wonder we've got fat fans

  4. If that was the 1st leg play-off then Germany were crap that night, they hardly threatened at all........the 2nd leg mind you was a complete 180, if it wasn't for the fact that they were shocking in front of goal we should have been well beaten. Also, Taylor had a mare that night too and he's supposed to be our great white hope. I do take your point about his concentration though for league games, but in his defense (not that i'm too bothered about him tbh), I think he's had some of the problems that Taylor has had at the toon, namely playing alongside some right guff and it drags him down to their level. If he had a better partner I think he'd improve, but then again I suppose any player should.
  5. Yup, the only thing to top that would be to be able to pick which three!!
  6. If last years version of the Zog turns up then its a no-brainer.....but so far this season theres not really that much to seperate them.
  7. http://europeancups.altervista.org/rankings/team%20ranking%202006.htm Next season we'll be even better as one of our seasons without euro football gets knocked off the end. ...as long as we qualify to use it of course.
  8. If you've been with them for a while, ring them up saying you want to cancel as you can't afford sky and other bills etc.............I did and they dropped the price by 25% for a year with no further tie-in.
  9. Does each team still keep the number or order or whatever from round to round, or do they still go alphabetically? Genuine question like, haven't managed to catch any of the draws live so don't know!
  10. Concur wholeheartedly, he isn't as bad as made out, just not 'A' grade. Ideal sub.
  11. Macclesfield have been one of the form teams the last month or so since Ince took ower, i'd give backing against them for 4/6 a wide berth (as I wished i'd done previously), but good luck anyway..........
  12. Can't really say i've noticed much about Dunne apart from the fact he's scored a few own goals.
  13. Not convinced that the Halls (or the board) are responsible for these proposed takeovers failing to go any further than looking at the books (due process?). As far as i'm aware no actual bid was made and therefore rejected by the shareholders. SJH is reportedly keen to sell up so I can't see him actively wanting to put a spanner in the works with those two prospective buyers of his shares.
  14. Pretty pleased about this personally, Marseille are my French club and I think Eriksson could be the man to recapture their former glory. Thought he'd end up at a bigger club (not that L'OM aren't huge, but I mean in a higher profile league). Exciting times for the club. Do they still have the same chairman or president, the one who got them done for bribery (I think it was for bribes anyway)? Tapie? Nah he left about 12/13 years ago now. that's the fella.....thought maybe he was still bankrolling them thats all. cheers.

  16. We dont need Ljungberg, i'd say West Ham do. Not much creativity when Benayoun goes off form, and Etherington is shit. Boa Morte down the left, he was going for SWP down the right but now has (maybe) Ljungberg. Its not that much panic tbh, both good buys, Quashie is solid and consistant someone for when Re-coker is letting them down. Just a journeyman, the only thing consistant about Quashie is his abilty to get relegated from the premiership....4 times so far!! 5 times would do me nicely Now that's harsh, poor guy. I wouldn't mind them going down, tbh, i dont really care who as long as its not us. Maybe if we were near the top i'd pick a fav and pray they'd go down. But with only 4-5pts in it, 16 games or so to go, they will make it, i reckon Wigan need to watch themselves this year. The only thing that would be better than the current bottom 3 getting relegated as they're all London teams (Watford, well very close) would be to cherry-pick which 3 in London went down. agree though that at least they're trying to get themselves out of trouble.

  18. a link to this thread was posted on RAOK(?).....mind you, I don't blame them for giving some of us grief over this one
  19. Just read thru this thread and tbh I am a bit embarrassed by some of 'our' posters on here. The scousers may well come across as professional wailers to some, but in the case with Hillsborough, they are fully entitled to.
  20. They're fortunate to be 2nd, and saying that, 2nd in the SPL is as good as being second bottom, especially if Celtic are top and double especially if they're 17 points or whatever clear. The board, the press and the fans wouldn't/couldn't allow him a year or two to maybe get it right. Maybe if the players he'd brought in were showing up the ones he'd inherited then maybe he'd have been given more time but it was the other way round. The Rangers fans here at work are absol-fuking-utely delighted he's gone. Thing is he knew about 6 months before he started the job he would become manager, and clearly he didn't use that time sussing out the Scottish league. I know its not the best, but you need certain individuals to get you through a season in a league like that, and i dont think he got that part right. Underestimated the Scottish league? Maybe, maybe not, but he certainly didn't know enough about it. I didn't realise he was pencilled in 6 months before, if thats the case then he's got no excuse for not knowing what to expect or what was expected of him. Oh aye. He had ample time to sort himself out and prepare for it. McLiesh was sacked (or told it was his last season) at the start of February, about a week after we sacked Souness, and within the end of the month PLG was officially going to be the new manager, it might have actually only been a week or so after. Either way he had 6 months before the start of the season, he could of researched the whole league ten years back by then, and it still wouldn't of effected his time. Oh well, looks like Rangers plan to take them forward has probably now taken back a year or two at least from now, as the new manager will be saddled with a load of players he won't want and probably unable to get shot of in a hurry............sounds vaguely familiar to me!!

  22. Can only see this as easy journalism.......we tried to part-ex him in the summer so it makes (journo) sense that we'll do the same again, regardless of the fact that its been stated by the club that we're not selling him. He isn't anywhere near the finished article yet but has been putting in some good shifts lately, whereas his reported replacement hasn't, and hasn't for a while. Personally I don't think we'll be doing much business this window, in fact i'd be amazed if anyone other than one or two clubs at best do, and even then its just gonna be loans in the main.
