I'm infuriated by this. To suggest that the England national team's shitness since McClaren took over is to do with the number foreign players in our league is ridiculas. The england national team has a plethora of talent and almost matches any team on the national stage in terms of quality and depth of quality. The reason that england aren't successfull is because we hire poor managers and we hire these managers because they are english. Foreign managers are lightyears ahead of ours.

I care about Newcastle first and foremost because England i feel is more like "southern england". Everything involving england is influenced by the cockney clubs (including man utd). They also have a terrible manager and blame poor results on their being too many foreign players in the league, which is the stupidest thing i've ever heard.

Good news and another good piece of management.

Alan O'Brien would be the best if he scored 20 goals a season and got 25 assists on top I think you know what i mean. If Lennon fullfilled his potential by showing more productivity he would be more recognised. I think he will improve in the future.
-
Lennon would be the best if he produced more goals and assists. For Bentley is the pick of the bunch because of his ability.

I do...I like Milner but it boils my piss when people are so blind just because they are NUFC players and think Milner is better than ever other young player in the same position on the field who play for other teams... I also think one of Milner's cons is his lack of speed and that is bad for a winger not to have... I agree Milner isn't "the best" young player around and i agree the reason is because he doesn't possess as much pace as Young, SWP etc etc. However, i believe that the fact Milner has made as (at the very least) a good winger proves the fact that he is most definately as gifted as some of those. What Milner doesn't give you in breathtaking pace he makes up for in productivity. At Villa he completed more crosses than any other prem player and last season for us he was one of the main reasons we didn't get relegated. A team needs variety, we can look elsewhere for pace.
-
SLK, do you think Milner is a good asset to Newcastle?
-
One issue and one issue only. GET ANAL GONE!
-
Harper Taylor Cacapa Rozehnal Zoggy Butt Geremi Smith Milner Martins Owen C'mon the boys!
-
Thing is though we have been tricked into worrying about them because of Souness and Roeder or more specifically their lack of squad building. Now we have a few players capable of coming in and performing. Out of that lot i would least want Rozehnal and Owen to get injured.
-
Considering Pirlo isn't a defensive midfielder it wouldn't be much of a defence.
-
Aye, the big test will come against the big teams. Looking forward to seeing how "the new" newcastle do against the top four. Can't believe we are proving to be a team that are actually hard to beat woo hoo.
-
Agreed. I thought both Butt and Geremi had total domanation over the middle of the park yesterday, it suprises me that they are getting critisism. I understand that we may lack some creativity in that area because of the type of player they are but we do look solid. I'm happy enough until Barton returns. He is the key.

Kirkland and James are englands most talented goalkeepers but James tends to throw in a howler every now and then and Kirkland is injury prone. I think we may have to wait for Foster and Carson to gain experiance before we really have a great goalkeeper again. As for Given and Harper, there both good but Seamus for me.

Bit late but here goes: Harper- 7 Not a great deal to do but a good stop from a free kick and no mistakes Taylor- 7 Not brilliant delivery but assured at the back and had energy to burn Cacapa-8 Looked comfortable all afternoon Rozhenal- 9 Neat and tidy. A breath of fresh air at st james, the best defender we've had in years N'Zogbia- 8 Wasted at left back but still deserves praise for his runs down the left and calm defending Smith- 6 He's no right winger but put in a shift and showed good attitude Butt- 7 Decent commanding performance. Gave the ball away a couple of times and should have scored Geremi- 7 Didn't create a great deal but he was the glue between defence and midfield. Milner- 8 Same old, same old. Hopefully he will get the results of last season with a more goals and assists Viduka- 6 Looks typically lazy but still proved a handfull. Should have scored. Owen- 9 Superb performance. Could have scored four and will before long, outstanding. Sub Martins- 8 Injected life and got the all important assist.

Words spoken from someone not clever enough to think of a sensible arguement to reply.
-
Think someone is talking out their arse.
-
N'Zogbia didn't even play most of last season. Even when he did there is every chance his performances were down graded by un fitness and bad management as aposed to effort. So some foreign signings haven't worked in the past means that we should assume anyone with a good reputation is doomed to fail. It's "fans" like you which are the reason why players don't always work out. You just don't give them a chance FFS.
-
Weird that i struggled to make a descion. Eventually i went for Barton because i think eventually he will become a club hero and captain. Closely followed by Cacapa and Rozehnal.
-
Would not argue with any of that.
-
Looking forward to this game and Sam is forced to make a desicion regarding the defence, after Carrs injury and the return of Cacapa and Enrique. Would like to see Owen start but feel Allardyce will stick with 433, therefore leave him out. Team i would pick: Given Taylor Cacapa Rozehnal Enrique Butt Geremi Milner N'Zogbia Martins Owen Team i expect: Given Taylor Cacapa Rozehnal N'Zogbia Butt Geremi Smith Martins Viduka Milner Prediction: 2-0

Mido deserves abuse he is a piece of shit. As for terrorists they too are the scum of the earth.
-
One things is for sure. He should not be judged on his performance tonight, nor should Enrique. I'll be happy if they get 80ish minutes and they help keep a clean sheet. Looking forward to seeing a couple more competant defenders at the back, as apposed to the usual laughing stock.
-
Might be a reason why Sam prefers african based players because they come from hard working background. Whilst compared to modern day british bling boys and lazy europeans. On the other hand, signings like Smith and Barton will only improve the hard working philosophy at the club.
