The problem with the england players is that they are played as indivduals and not as a team. Most of them are good players at domestic level but thats because they train with their mates everyday of the week. I'm just a bit worried as to where the goals will come from, you can't rely on the midfield and Crouch, Cole and SWP aren't exactly prolific against decent teams. I realise Bent isn't either but he is a striker and will get into the positions if the manager allows it and doesn't go out for a draw. The problem i believe alot of managers make is that they look to individuals for goals as apposed to how the team can work to get goals. If we get the balance correct all over the park then i believe goals will come. Crouch is pretty prolific for England and with the system suiting Gerrard and Lampards style of play i think we have enough options in advanced areas to get goals. If it wasn't working out we could bring on players like Bent to make the difference, i'd rather start with a solid foundation.

I'd prefer Bent to SWP in the first one. He's more someone we should be looking to bring on as a sub imo. Bents an out and out striker though. The system i referred to is the one that was created to fit those players who people wern't quite sure what their best position is, like Diouf and Cole. SWP is the closed thing England have to a right sided winger come striker. Apart from Walcott who is with the U21s at th moment.

If Sam starts regularly playing Rozehnal, which i suspect he might, then i'd give it to him. He's sensible and plays in a "captains position". He's got a proffesional attitude which i admire. Second choice would be Barton because he possess' alot of the characteristics of a captain, even though he is missing some.

I'm suprised with what is happening at Liverpool because he was in some great form for them before they decided to drop him. He's a very good striker who has always caused us problems in the past. Depending on the price, i would take him here. 5 or 6m would be my guess.

TBF i'd have Berbatov here in a flash. People can say he's petulant but thats what man management is about, taking care of those players that need guidance when the going gets tough. Do people really think he would have behaved like this had Alex Ferguson been his manager? I'm not defending his behaviour but just looking at the bigger picture, it's up to the manager to command respect from his players. I agree about Van Persie, he's been brilliant this year. I also think the likes of Young and Agbonlahor deserve mentions.
