  1. Reet lads, first one through the door? I'm going Tierney.
  2. Also, really important to note that he's clearly told his people that he would be willing to join us. It's the most basic rule of football transfers that you don't bid for a player without sounding out the players camp first but that was 12 months ago and he could have told multiple clubs that he's interested in their advances.... why wouldn't he? There's a small part of me that's not even sure he's one of our targets any more.
  3. I'd be actually surprised if Liverpool, Man United, City, Chelsea or Arsenal weren't interested in him for 35/40m. It would be very hard for him to turn down any of them clubs.... even if Chelsea are a shambles.
  4. Harry Kane is currently on 200k, at a club notorious for not paying high wages. He's not getting 250k at Spurs. He might get 150, which we won't go to but I dare say we will go close. It will also cost him twice as much to live in London.
  5. I'd be phoning up Leicester on Monday morning. I'd ask about Barnes too while I'm at it. Dunno why but I can see Barnes at West Ham or Villa.

    Anthony Gordon

Yeah that's spot on that. Honesty will get you everywhere. If you are prepared to listen, learn and work hard, you are on the right path.
  7. It has been utterly bizarre. Edwards saying 50m budget last summer or whatever. I think it's pure guesswork.

I thought his run for the goal was pretty much the one good thing he did. I agree with the general consensus that he needs a full pre season, coaching and fitness schedule before we see the best of him. He looks like he puts himself under too much pressure to succeed. Work smarter not harder, as the saying goes. I certainly feel like this season will be the making of Gordon, its been massively turbulent for him.
  9. Right? I feel like I'm being gaslighted or someshit.
  10. Just to clear, I'm not disputing the method of payments for transfers. What I'm saying is that NOBODY when talking about a transfer budget, especially when it comes to the press, talks about transfer budgets in this way. For example we signed Pope for 12m over 4 payments (if I remember correctly) but for the purpose of "transfer budget speculation/talk" nobody says we spent 3m on Pope last summer. When a journalist says "a budget of x million" they mean a budget of x million, not a budget of x million in first installments. I'm talking football transfer parlance here.

Said the above a couple of weeks ago... He's a man/child. Seems to easily get about the pitch. The biggest compliment I can give him is that I mistook him for Bruno a couple of times.
  12. Well im telling you that's what's being suggested. When a journalist puts a figure out, whether it be 50m, 100m or whatever, they are talking about transfer fees, not amortisation or any other magical bollocks. I understand how that stuff works (kind of) but that's not what's being discussed here.
  13. That's not what is being suggested and you know it... They are suggesting a 100m outlay on transfer fees. I'd be shocked if its below 150m.
  14. I'm not quite sure why journalists continue to play down our spending power in the face of all the evidence. We absolutely smashed our transfer record last summer. The spent a straight 45m on Gordon in January. We've shown no signs of slowing down.
  15. I remember a few saying "not bothered about Botman", don't say the same about Maddison because if he signs you will look stupid. He's absolutely class.
  16. Forgot about Willocks assist against Spurs. Him and Isak can both have it. (I don't care if Isaks took a deflection).
  17. Player of the Season: Trippier Most Improved Player of the Season: Murphy Most Disappointing Player: Fraser Signing of the Season: Pope Goal of the Season: Miggy vs Fulham Assist of the season: Isak vs Everton Game of the Season: City 3-3 Moment of the Season: Reaching the cup final Manager rating out of 10: 10 Season rating out of 10: 10 (surpassed all expectations)
  18. Gordon for Wilson, Isak at number 10. Almiron for Murphy.
  19. Wilson and Murphy will cause this lot bother.

    Joelinton

They might actually win a tournament with big Joe.
  21. Not as a "top target" but I've decided I'd definitely like JWP. What price do you think Southampton would want? 30m? If we can sign someone of higher calibre, to join our midfield, then JWP would be an excellent further addition to bolster our numbers. There's a few plus points: Really good character. Really good technician. Great set pieces. Leader. Can play anywhere in middle, DM, CM and AM. Probably wouldn't be on huge wages. Something about him that I think Howe would love. Proper good professional that fits our current team philosophy.
  22. Is Havertz available? Thought I'd read he was missing.
  23. Oh Eddie will be looking to win. That's why I think Isak and Wilson will start.
  24. Paqueta is still going to his wedding like, he also said he's invited ASM, Eddie, Miggy and Mad Dog.
  25. What a lush interview man. He's so bloody cute. Confirmed what we all knew, that he was playing through an injury to his ankle, what a bloke. I hope he gets fully rested and refreshed and we see some wedding photos. When he's back in the summer, I want him to sign a big juicy new contract.
