Sometimes my fashion sense suggests im mentally ill.

In fairness, I think we made it clear to Isak we would give him big wages but it was too late.
-
I agree on most of that stuff, but I feel like we can be proactive and calm about the way we deal with departures. The Isak thing was a saga wrapped in a cluster fuck and thats what we need to avoid. There are only a couple of clubs in the world who are big enough to avoid the sharks and you are right when you say if we do it too often we will suffer but at the moment its one player in 4 years and theres some great signs that we got a good fee and a good replacement, so it doesn't have to be doom and gloom. Hopefully in the next 4 years our revenue will be significantly bigger and hopefully there are changes to PSR afoot.

The penalty was amazing but if I know hes going to do that every time im not watching his pens.

We should get used to some players leaving, and enjoy them while we have them. Just dont leave like Isak and dont leave to Liverpool. If he signs a new contract and 12 months down the line Real Madrid come sniffing, whilst we shouldnt bend over for them, we could respect any wishes the player may have. The key to all of this, is in our scouting. We need to know where to find the next Tonali and preferably 2 of them, because in order to benefit from any sale, we need to add more quality players to the squad than we've lost.

I suppose we should, but then embarrassing those who are overly critical might prevent them from making the same mistake in the future (it absolutely wont). For once id love our fans base just to trust the club. Weve made some amazing signings this summer, especially given the circumstances, at little praise wouldnt go amiss.

For the first part, isnt it clear that Milan and Thiaw had decided to continue on together, therefore Milan themselves will have stopped any search for a replacement? If Milan had to pick up their search some weeks later, then they are well entitled to increase the fee IMO. And to the second part, theres nothing to suggest he was available last summer and even then what sort of "premium" would we have had to pay then? My wider point is that given the criticism the club get on transfers, those same people go missing when the opportunity to praise the club is at hand.

Its absolute nonsense. Its essentially people saying we could have got him cheaper earlier in the month, which is not only irrelevant to his current success but its also not factually true whatsoever. Some of our fans want their signings at their imaginary prices and will be critical of the club if it deviates from that path. Weve signed a top centre back, at a relatively cheap price and that should be the end of the analysis of this transfer IMO.

Sorry, I was kind of being sarcastic by calling him an insensitive cunt. Thats just my humour.
-
Dude we know Gordon blinks. We just arent insensitive cunts who need to talk about it.

We aren't selling Joelinton like. Hes a massive part of this squad, in every way.
-
Given the improvement weve seen from Murphy, id say we can definitely expect improvement. Hes never going to be a tricky winger but if he learns when to run and when to dribble, he will be fine.
-
I thought he was good today.
-
I feel like every time I doubt Joelinton that he finds his best form. Ask any Forest player what it was like playing against Joelinton today. We do need different options though.
-
I mean, just knock it past the fullback and cross it. With his pace he wins that battle every time. His pace is fine, his crossing is fine. Just keep making runs. Don't fuck about on the ball. Worth remembering that Murphy gave the ball away when he came on and almost cost us a goal.
-
He seems to grow into games because theres a few times hes sloppy in the first half before being class in the second. For someone who looks like hes running in custard at times hes got a very good engine and it seems to help him perform later in games.
-
Mind I cant really enjoy his performances knowing we paid a premium for him.
-
He was arguably our best player vs Arsenal, who are currently favourites for the league.

Just seen the worst penalty given in the Madrid game.
