    João Pedro

    Where did he say this?
  2. No, I think Pedro, like Ramos would be seen as link up man in the middle. A RW search is separate. In fact the reason we are targeting this lad is possibly so we can retain some funds for a loan fee.
  3. Second coming off Chris Wood though? It's perfectly normal that if someone makes this remark they will get called out. Underwhelming, OK, I don't agree but OK. When someone says "they are shite", without thought, without reason, without explaining their viewpoint, they are going to look ill-informed and reactionary. If I viewpoint is brought with some evidence, some calmness and put across in a correct manner, it will be recieved alot better.
  4. Free speech dictates that while you are allowed to be overly negative, other posters are allowed to be condescending. You can't have it both ways.
  5. It suggests we are juggling between a few options. I reckon it wasn't a "bid" but more us sounding out another potential players price.
  6. Personally I find overly negative hyperbole more offensive.
  7. If the argument is that you would prefer some proven, who can guarantee goals, thats fair enough. We are clearly targeting a "type" of forward though; versatile, raw, technical but not without experience. FWIW, our selection of targets is now data driven.
  8. I'll admit I haven't seen loads of him but when I saw the link my first thought was "he's meant to be quite good", then I come in here and he's Chris Wood mark 2. Funny really because Chris Wood is a 30 year old New Zealander, who's got a decent scoring record in the PL and is seen as a traditional centre forward, hold up the ball, get on the end of crosses, that type and Pedro is a 20 year old fleet footed technical type, more in the mould of Ayoze Perez? I mean I'm all for writing off a promising young Brazilian who actually got alot of experience and alot of promise but I'm not sure why?
  9. It's become virtually impossible to guess what's going on. Something will happen and I'm just here for the ride.

Far from dissuading me, the Brighton game confirmed to me that we have made great progress. Brighton would have beaten 2/3 sides in the league on Saturday, including West ham and Man Utd. Sure we rode our luck in the second half but we are a solid outfit. Our issue, of course, comes from our output in the final third. Hopefully we can get one or two players in to give us 15/20 more goals this year and turn a couple of potential draws into wins and loses into draws.
  11. Out of nowhere, Spurs win this 1-2.
  12. He'd be worth every penny of what we put in for Maddison. He's a good player and has amazing potential as a goalscoring AM.
  13. Perfect time to get a bid in too. If they best Spurs and convince themselves that squad players are expendable.
  14. Smoozing the ownership before we get Danny Boy to do the bizzo with a bid. Amanda and Mehrdad are hands on anyway.

Just an update 2 games in: Newcastle: 4 points after 2 games, an average of 2 PPG above the target of 1.5 PPG. Of course this will reduce after we play city. Other potential rivals after 2 games: Brighton: 4 points Villa: 3 points Leicester: 1 point Wolves: 1 point Man Utd: 0 points Palace: 0 points Play on Monday against Liverpool West Ham: 0 points Other sides not included because I either don't believe they are strong enough or are the "top 5" teams.
  16. The biggest problem Man Utd have is that they are unwilling to accept that any rebuild takes time. They keep trying to switch the computer on and off, in the hope that it will start working again, instead of actually getting a new one. The first thing the need to do is get rid of their rotten core of players. Get 3 or 4 young players into the side and inject some energy.
  17. Replacing ASM with any 2 of those I have mentioned and we have a stronger squad. We'd also replace his output on the field.
  18. My ratings: Pope 9 Got us a point in the end Trippier 5 Below par, struggled with Japanese sub in second half Schar 7 Solid Botman 8 Was really impressed, great full debut Burn 8 Defensive leader, offered nothing in attack though Willock 5 Had one of his off days Bruno 6 Gave the ball away a few times but also won it a few times Joelinton 7 Battled hard, couldn't drive us like normal Miggy 7 Tireless as usual, no end product as usual ASM 5 Didn't contribute in either end. Got caught diving Wilson 7 Tried everything but was isolated in the second half
  19. Goal coming for Forest.
  20. Forest doing that "your shit ahhhh" chant, fuck off back to the champo. Small time bastards. Brighton did it yesterday too.
  21. I have to be honest. He does my head in more than any other player. He goes from unplayable to unwatchable at times. Sadly, he's our second most threatening player in terms of goals and assists. So unless we get more in, he can't leave. If the scenario comes about where we can sell him and use that money to add quality in an attacking area, then I'd do it. Let's hypothetically say we got 40m for him and that gave us the license to go and get 2 of Maddison, Ramos, Gallagher, Gordon etc, then we should absolutely do it.
