I think its clear from the club that they no longer realistically hold any hope of him playing for the club again. This is about not being bullied by a player and setting a precedent. If he wants to ruin a year of his career or be sent into exile, thats his choice. With it being 3 years, his value will hold (mostly) and we get the added bonus of being able to attract other clubs into the mix.

I think they will stay up. I know some dont like to hear this but they are club that if they get momentum, they can bounce from one game to the next. They also have a home stadium which is capable of creating an atmosphere. Theyve also spent shit loads across the board.
