  1. We've paid over 40m for a player in every transfer window we have been involved in (apart from January gone). In the scenario I outlined above, I could easily see: 50m for Diomande Kelly for free 50m for a RW/Striker If we recoup 30/40m for the 3 I mentioned above, that's more than doable.
  2. I've said this before, but it's worth reiterating... Every transfer window in which we have spent money, we have been way more ambitious than what I would have been. In the relegation zone: We signed Bruno and Trippier Following summer: Beat AC Milan to Botman and signed one of most highly rated young strikers in Europe in Isak. Following Summer: Took AC Milans future captain off them (ok, I know, I know). The point is, sometimes we are guilty of a lack of imagination. IF we have money to spend, we tend to go after real quality.
  3. If wouldn't surprise you if Chelsea win 6 games in a row, despite never looking like doing that all season? Stiffy, this is one of those worried Newcastle fan posts, where you imagine the worst case scenario and run with it. TBF, I did it during the run last season. Newcastle will 100% drop points, possibly tonight, but we are better placed to pick ourselves up. Even if we lose against Palace, we couldn't have a better fixture than SU to recover. I'd be surprised if we don't get 3 wins, which will be enough IMO.

If he's close. It's much more likely that he waits until Sheffield U at home.
  5. Well you can speculate all you want on FFP but the reality is that alot of us simply don't know where we stand. The club have talked about us being at our FFP limit since the day they walked through the door, in order to dampen expectations and of course to give them some bargaining power. Of course, you can look at recent figures and take a good guess but does that take into account our new sponsorship/shirt deals? As you say, we may sell players too. I can easily see a scenario where we sell Miggy, Wilson and Targett, we'd get somewhere around 30/40m for them 3 and although I have limited understanding of amortisation, that's not an insignificant number. The one thing I'm certain of, is that the club will at least sign 2/3 quality players to improve the squad. Edit: I'm also fairly convinced that we COULD have done one deal in January but decided against it, because it made more sense to wait until the summer and because we were limited in what we could do. In short, I'm sure we can find 100m to improve the squad with 2/3 players.
  6. 80m euros is 68 million pounds, which is more than what we paid for Isak, therefore I'd be highly surprised if we went to that figure. However, that's the high end of what they want. We've showed that we are capable of paying 50m+ for players we rate. Nothing to say we wouldn't do it again.... in theory.
  7. Don't care, as long as we have more games of football.
  8. Yep, there goes any chance of Chelsea catching our goal difference.
  9. Like I said before. Let's hope the stuffing gets knocked out of Chelsea.
  10. 9 points will do top 7 IMO. Win our two home games and smash Burnley away. If we want 6th beat Man United at Old Trafford.
  11. West Ham are gone, Man United are a mess and Chelsea are currently getting beat and have the most work to do.

Pires did cross with his left foot mind and he did go down the line. He was good at it.

    Andy Cole

Aye and won a treble. Fucking selfish cunt.
  14. If Leicester win, I think that's them just about up.
  15. Could really do with Chelsea taking a psychological hit.
  16. Chelsea have looked dangerous mind. Certainly see more goals.
  17. Chelsea getting beat is good. We need them to at least draw a couple of games.

My favourite current player. He's also been our player of the season, by some distance I might add. We've had Evertons pants down, which makes the story all the more sweeter.

    Sandro Tonali

He promised his mates in Milan that he would come back with a big cup.

Isn't it weird that I can tell its an Italian dude just by the chinos and, what I assume is a black polo neck, tucked into it. Reckon if you'd showed me that photo, with no context I could have guessed which player it was. What do we reckon for footwear? My guess would be brown shoes with no socks.
  21. When people say "we need this, we need that", that's all entirely dependant on your expectations for next season. I'm wanting/expecting us to push for top 4 again and there is a strong argument to say that we weren't far off this year, if it wasn't for injuries and suspensions, of course. However, as we know, if you stand still.. you go backwards. From a midfield perspective, it can't be a priority. From a numbers perspective we are stacked, so even if we want to improve, it has to be a one in one out situation. Not entirely impossible, as I've said before we could get an offer for Willock, for example. Defence has to be a priority, our attacking numbers are good, our defensive numbers aren't great. We have 2 CBs out with ACLs, so it's imperative we get a CB. I'd argue LB is important. I'm sick of dancing around the position with players who are either injury prone, playing out of position or too raw. Sign a quality LB like we did with Trippier, it will transform our starting 11. Let Targett leave, get what we can. After that, we need to boost our attack. We could go any number of ways. RW, CF, it doesn't matter. Fresh blood to support what we already have.
  22. I've never seen a defeat dressed as victory before. Well done Man United. What a shambles.
