Amazing how many people are quick to trust the opinion of some bloke on twitter that they had likely never heard of, over a manager and transfer team who've had something like a 95% hit rate on transfers. If you go on twitter, you can go and find the opinion which suits what you want, very easily. Thats because every opinion has been covered. Im a big believer in trusting the fans opinion on a player, however, its not an exact science, since context needs taken into account. Anthony Gordon was awful according to Everton fans, that will be the Everton fans who hated everything about their own club at the time. If you want to understand Milan fans, you have to understand their history. Their fans believe they should be competing for CL trophies and dominating serie A. Theyve literally had all the best defenders in history play for their club.... its entirely understandable that they are nonplussed about a 24 year old German who's raw as fuck. Possibly a more accurate indication of this lads potential, and remember thats what we are signing here, is the fact that not only did we want him but Bayern, Juventus and a few other clubs in Europe, where at the very least, interested in him. I mean sure, Juventus did sign Lloyd Kelly, so there is that. Anyway, from the little ive seen, hes physically perfect and can ping a 40 yarder, so you can see why Eddie likes him. A few weeks with the maturity of Schar, Burn and Trippier will bring the mental side of his game on.

Wissa was promised to be allowed to leave. Isak wasnt. If Newcastle had seen this Isak stuff coming, they could have planned better. Brentford have been aware of Wissa's wish for ages by all accounts. I still dont like footballers downing tools though.
-
Imagine Romano does a tweet saying the Liverpool are in for Wissa. The meltdown will be cataclysmic.

How do the other big clubs do it then? Im not being sarcastic but if we are limited to the first 11 being good and the rest being just ok then we aren't getting anywhere. I think having 4 quality CMs for 3 positions seems perfectly workable to me. Im sure Villa have a selection of midfielders who they rotate, and its seemed to work for them. Ive no issue going for a younger player who can improve FWIW but i really liked the idea of McGinn.
-
Ive already got Lewis Hall and Harrison Ashby pegged as CMs ahead of relying on Willock. Once Thiaw and Wissa are done, we need to go full steam on a CM. Even if its a loan with an option, that would do.
-
Give me right nut for a concrete midfielder link. Wissa + Midfielder = window salvaged. Would absolutely love it if we fucked off Isak by making him stay and spent our wad of money on CM who's proper class.

Or, and I know this is out there, but hes not gaff prone at all, hes just a young players who's made a few mistakes in a struggling side? Dan Burn made more errors 2 years ago, yet managed to be our player of the year this time.

Will be Pope Trippier Schar Burn Tino Bruno Tonali Joelinton Elanga Gordon/Wissa Barnes

Tell you what, this guy could be Titus Bramble but in him, Ramsdale and Elanga, its nice to sign players who want to be here.... Wissa too.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Can't imagine why? Almost like they put 11 fresh players on the pitch on the hour mark. -

The players on the pitch are clearly knackered and playing against a completely energised AM 11. Game was over a while ago. -

I actually think hes fine. He was knackered. -
Not the star signing that I had in mind but I entirely trust the club and Eddie's ability to get the best out of players. Its a shame hes not had a pre season with us.

Defending awful. Like where were they? -
I like this signing. Im sure im not alone in this, but I keep wanting to blame to club for something around this signing and cant figure out what it is. Its not that hes a bad signing, its not because hes an older player, its not because its taken a while because the delay has been at the Brentford end. I think ive got so much disdain for the clubs recruitment right now that even the good signings annoy me.

Never realised Carol Vordeman was a member.

Here's a thought. Maybe we dont even bother with this one. Sign Wissa. Make Isak stay (even if he refuses to pay). At least then we get to put our balls back between our legs.
-
Im a big believer in add ons. If he scores goals for us, Chelsea can have the extra money, if they dont believe he will score goals for us, give us fair value. Under Eddie, Jackson would get at least 15 goals.
-
Also Southampton "wanted" 100m for Dibling. Theyve just offered him to Everton for 45m. Don't believe prices in the press. Anything over 50m for Jackson and weve been robbed.
-
I dont think Jackson would be a bad signing. The issue is that signing Jackson gives us no hope that we would have replaced Isak with someone even potentially capable of reaching his level. Whilst Ekitike, Pedro and Sesko aren't at Isaks level, there was a hope that one of them may have kicked on. Jackson has no chance of being as good as Isak. The only hope would be that Wissa + Jackson would give us a stronger squad but thats clutching.

Is that Pletti twat even half reliable? I cant remember the last time I saw a reliable and non cunt person on twitter.
