He can't do anything, attacking wise, but as a defender he's fairly solid. I don't think I've seen us linked with any left backs who are better at defending than Dummett. Gibbs, perhaps, but his assets are mainly on the front foot. Either way, we won't be signing a left back until at least Haidara and Lazaar are off the books, which is understandable.

It's quite feasible that the club would consider selling Colback if an offer came in. I can imagine a few Championship clubs being keen on him. We can only live in hope.

Considering how often Lee Ryder likes to quash a rumour, it would have to be assumed that the targets the chronicle mention are legitimate. So even though they don't know all of our targets (Merino and Manquillo), they clearly know some of them and Ryder must have someone in the club who is at least willing to tell him who we are not interested in. I can imagine Rafa going for Adrian but largely because they are both Spanish.

He's part of a crew which helped prop up Pardew's tenure, along with Coloccini and co. I have little sympathy. He once had huge potential. That said, we need a new keeper very soon.
