How many people use a product based on seeing it on a football shirt? I have never felt inclined to buy Chang Beer/Carlsberg etc after watching a Merseyside derby. I dont think Northern Rock get too much business on the back of seeing a fat geordie in a shirt tbh Incredibly short sighted. Advertising is far more complex than that.

I'll help you. He's probably had just over half a dozen good games this season. So lets ignore the change in ability of his team mates, the league he's playing in, manager, level of enthusiasm that would result from trying to prove yourself in a new team & a new league. The way a players mentality would be effected by all of the above & in turn effect his decision making during a game. Even if it were a lack of motivation to fully play at the standard he's capable of which is one option, how could you blame him. We're top of the league, he has our joint most assists, the majority of the play goes through him when attacking. Our defence is already the best in the league, with him tracking back at the standard he is now. He's still getting into Argentina's first team, yet you expect more? Same old nonsense. Take our best players, set a stupidly high standard for them and have a moan when they dont live up to your personal expectations because they arent robotic. Totally agree.

If Guthrie and Taylor can cause problems with their crossing ability then Nobby will tear most defences apart. He could contribute significantly considering he can play at right back too. On a minimum contract, month to month basis he could be a good face to add to the squad. Creativity is something we've been crying out for.

I expect the club to be quite "hush hush" about their business. Wouldn't shock me if we signed a couple of players out of the blue, like Kevin Nolan last January.
-
Burnley missed a trick with Alan Irvine IMO. Can see them slipping into the abyss after the next appointment TBH.
-
It shouldn't happen but it does in every paper, every day, up and down the country. The reason that they get away with it is because most people can't be arsed to complain and/or want the publicity anyway.

You are at least 14 hours too late. Verdict = Source shit

Shola's goalscoring record is almost as abysmal as his ability.
-
Was going to say that Villa fans don't rate Carew that highly but i think someone already mentioned it.

IMO Carroll has been excellent for us this season, he's caused problems for every defence he has come against and been one of the main reason why we are top of the league. I respect the fact that goals are important, especially for a striker, however Carroll offers something different. We are all entitled to our opinion though.
-
He did score goals in the champions league but Carroll has never been given an opportunity in one of the most attacking teams in europe and in one of the best teams in the premiership has he? So you don't think a 21 year old Shola is capable of more than 4 goals in this league? In this team, no. So you don't think a 21 year old Carroll would have scored more with the likes of Nobby and Robert whipping in crosses? As someone said before Ameobi has had his chance and has proved himself shite. Carroll has not.

If Carroll can put himself about in the premier league like he has in the Championship then he will become a better player than Shola. Shola does nothing in the premiership, absolutely nothing, so he won't be hard to surpass.

Would be nice for this one to go through because not only will he, almost certainly, not play against Reading but he's also cup tied which means he'd be in line for a start against...... West Brom.
-
As a newcastle fan you get prepared for hiccups and disappointments. There's no denying that he's odds on to join us now though.
-
It seems to be popular for footballers to hand in transfer requests when they find out a club is interested, as apposed to being unsettled in general. I hope this ties in with the reports that we had made our "final" bid for him.

Not over yet. Fulham have their tails up.
-
It's not a fake either.

His contact list is a bit useless. The following players you don't need any special contact list Mark Schwarzer Stephen Kelly John Pantsil Seol Ki-Hyeon Andrew Johnson Zoltán Gera David Stockdale Andranik Teymourian Damien Duff Pascal Zuberbühler Dickson Etuhu Jonathan Greening (on loan from West Bromwich Albion) Bobby Zamora The following players you need more extensive scouting - but only Hangeland is a success, maybe Nevland Brede Hangeland (vice-captain) Erik Nevland Bjørn Helge Riise Fredrik Stoor Toni Kallio Kagisho Dikgacoi David Elm I'd point more toward what he's done with those players.

If Burnley stay up this season, perhaps they would be able to afford an Anelka ? Facilities yes - but hardly a deciding factor ? Depends who you are, if i was coach it might be a deciding factor. Burnley will struggle to find 8-10m for one player, especially when you consider Everton struggle to.
-
Good shout for the summer, questionable fitness record though.
-
As i've said many times Danny Murphy (in the summer). January provides very few options, someone like Pedro Mendes perhaps or a good youngster.
-
Me too, would do wonders here too with our small budget. He has a really long contact list across Europe. As well as experiance, respect and a whole host of other attributes that make him a top coach and a likeable bloke.
-
Would still love to have Hodgson as our boss.
-
Yes, Bolton will at least have the odd splash on an Anelka or an Elmander, Burnley never will. Bolton have more fans and better players too but they are a worse team, at the moment. The difference between the sides is marginal but there are other things to take into account, such as facilities.
