Hughton's quotes seem to suggest shoulder. Don't they feel for shoulder nerves through the fingers? (Disclaimer) I know fuck all about Physiotherapy like.
-
I rate Taylor, i think it would be a shame to see him leave. I hope his shoulder injury isn't too serious, as we need competition for places next season. I suspect he might be a bit of a prick but that ,sadly, is part of the game, it's unrealistic to have only nice guys in the squad. Good teams learn to harness the attitudes in their squads.
-
Still not convinced we are interested but we should be, if his wages aren't sky high. His experiance, attitude and ability would add to our defence no end.
-
Cole, Zhirkov, Bertrand and V.A all competing for one place at the moment. Arguably at the back of that Q n all. aint cole off to real? Rumoured but Chelsea would merely sign a replacement anyway, so it doesn't make a diffference to the numbers.
-
Can't imagine anyone wouldn't want Van Aanholt back here and i'm pretty sure the lad would be keen on coming back too. All depends on Chelsea though.

Based on what was on show, i'm not suprised it wasn't a popular viewpoint. Milner showed very little of the end product he shows for Villa.

I think Gosling will be a good prospect for us. Even if they are not similar technically, i reckon Gosling and Guthrie are very similar in their stage of development. IMO it's excellent to see the club attempting to take this route, of buying younger players who can improve with the club (even if the motives are suspect). Who knows whether it will work or whether either of these two lads will turn out to be quality players but i much prefer to fail through giving decent youngsters a chance than overpaid superstars. I'd love to see us add a couple of exciting youngsters further up the field, who can join the young squad we are assembling. Vuckic, Guthrie, Carroll, Ranger, Enrique, Krul, Forster and potentially Gosling, not a bad little group of players.
-
Yeah I guessed he'd 'done a Dos Santos' in that sense. Just thought on a free he might be worth a gamble in terms of reviving a career. Can't be demanding high wages surely. Wigan turned A. Valencia from a Villareal reject into an £18 million player, it's the kind of model we should be following. We will with Routledge. You just never know
-
It also says he was the leagues top scorer last year and "pacey" which is definately something we need. Interesting that it says we have bid 1.5m... sounds like us
-
For the first time in ages we can start thinking about what we might look like in the future (if we get Gosling). This wouldn't be a bad start: Guthrie Gosling Routledge Jonas Vuckic Carroll

Aaron Spear? Oh aye thats him. Cheers. No you were right, we were after Gosling as well, we were certainly heavily linked. Ah well, can't harm if we have spoke to his people before, mind you alot has probably changed since then. Would be a lovely little signing for us but wouldn't address next years problems.

Hughton mentioned something about "players coming available" the other day and Gosling certainly fits the bill. Didn't we try and sign him from Plymouth when he was a youngster before he joined Everton?

Who taught you the forum code of conduct. You are just ruining it for the rest of us!!

Ready to offer 15m euros should ruin that rumour Google translate: After much questioning the 8.5 million spent by embodied in its acquisition, now appears the Newcastle willing to commit a folly to rescue what should be the holder of the goal of national champion next season. When the CM was found, the team newly promoted to the Premier League is ready to offer up to 15 million euros to return the land to Her Majesty with a further strengthening in the luggage. Benfica's interest already know English, but for now, does not admit of entering into dialogue, given the importance that Jorge Jesus recognizes the player for 24 years now that the season starts. But the story does not end here. When the CM was found, Derek Llambias, vice-chairman of Newcastle, is to enjoy their holidays at a hotel in the Algarve, awaiting orders to travel to the capital to close the deal with Luis Filipe Vieira. Although not inclined to sell its latest enhancement, Vieira acknowledges that any profit that might fit the SAD (6.5 million) in just over eight days at the club would bring other arguments to attack new players, including another goalkeeper . In this context, Eduardo, 'keeper' of SC Braga and the national team, is back in orbit of the red. With a term of four million, the athlete of 27 years has already announced that will not be in the Minho and the alien would be the most viable hypothesis. Arsenal, Bayern and Genoa are the candidates for their assistance. However, the possibility of staying in Portugal, a club with another projection and allowing it to play in the Champions League, you can change the course of events.

I thought he was on about Raoul Moat. We might as well get him along to training to show Besty how to shoot more accurately.
-
We have money, just very little. Basically it will just be a continuation of January's window.
-
Yes please, only on sensible wages though. If his wages are sensible, he could certainly be a different option. Only as a squad player though. Don't think he's a Hughton type but you never know.
-
Geovanni on a free?
-
They said Nolan was s*** too...You're right though, it works both ways. We were pretty gutted when Beye left, and he's done nothing since. You just never know. Exactly, you just never really know. Carr, Parker, N'Zogbia and Milner are all players we weren't too disapointed to see leave the club, all of which have been key players for their respective clubs.
-
I seem to remember Bolton fans saying that Guthrie was shit and i think he is a canny little player. Don't read too much into what others fans are saying about outgoing players, whether it's good or bad.
-
Strangely they didn't sound so gutted when our bid in January was rejected. Most of them were glad to see him stay.. It's also not taking into account how the majority of this forum didn't rate James Milner when he left.
-
Fancy losing his watch and his first team place on the same day.
-
At least he's not proven to be bad at prem level, unlike most of our current players. Proven to be bad at Championship level according to the people who watch him. Milner was bad at premiership level according to the people who watched him. You seem to imply a player will get better here... No, just stating that the people who watch and make their judgements can sometimes get it correct, but sometimes get it woefully wrong.
