Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Exiled in Texas replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
My uncle Jim once told me "If you can leave your home town, your friends and your family it will open your eyes and make you a man." And that makes coming home all the sweeter ..... Ahl brave the dark at St. James's Park, At the Gallowgate End in the rain, Ahm coming home.. -
They are planning on selling them all to raise a large kitty for the new players they need, but also keeping them as the foundation of their championship side which the new players will slot in around. Best of both worlds, when you are the worlds leader in Mackematics

came back from 0-2 down

There was no way Klinnsman was ever giving up his SoCal life for Wearside. He commuted back/forth to his Germany National Team commitments, but he likes his life in California too much.

Not intentionally, but there are penalties that rebound from the posts (and sometimes the bar) and if the penalty taker touches the ball before any other player then he is guilty of a second touch and it's an IFK coming out. I think this rule is being considered to make it one-shot...and no rebounds for anyone. It would be either a goal or an IFK coming out.

Just got Mauricio Pellegrino massivley mixed up in my head with former Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini. Glad I worked that one out -

You're right....it would need to be a UEFA decision to be possible. And we know how that would go. A more likely solution would be putting fixed squad limits in place for the First Team, "Reserves" and a U23, with restrictions on where loans can play depending on the players squad contract. For example, no loans within the league for the first team squad (or equivalent rated league (i.e. EPL/Bundesliga/La Liga/SerieA) must go down a league or move to a smaller country. Reserves cannot play in First team or be loaned to league down without clearing a squad place in the first team. This would prevent clubs from stockpiling players and encourage players to sign for clubs they would play for (not have the 67+ Chelsea loan players)

Salary caps work within a league if league isn't exposed to external competition from other leagues. The Salary Cap works well for leagues like the NFL where there is no other place for players to go, or like the NBA or NHL where the alternative is playing in Argentina, Europe or the Russian K-League and where even the capped salary is far in excess of the alternate leagues. If the Premier League capped Salaries then all the top players would flood to Spain, France or Germany where the salaries are uncapped.

It's already been said. This isn't a group of supporters buying them, this is a few businessmen, 2 of which happen to be supporters. Yeah I guessed that I still cannot see how anyone would consider SAFC a business investment that would return a profit. I love how the RTGers foaming at the mouth that the new investors will come in an immediately drop 15-30M on a business that loses money, and yet they won't shell out any $$ on ticket fees. If I was coming in as an investor, I would index link the player investment to match day revenue increases, so the more that the fans pay extra for their matches, the more the owner investment is.

The FTM crowd (FreeTicketMarras) won't pay $12 to watch them live. How are they going to expect them to find £50M to buy the club Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And it keeps Abraham away from rivals like Brighton or West Ham

Bundesliga has playoffs between 3rd bottom and 3rd top, so it's not unheard of. If you want the best quality teams in the upper division then this makes sense. Who would be better for the PL next season - Hull or Huddersfield? I like the drama from today but have to think that Huddersfield are overmatched Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, if it was tickets "sold" then Sunderland would have dropped from 29th place to about 89th. #freeticketmackems Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Terrible news for Bradley and his family. So sad.

The good news is that he is "Southend" player not "Ex-Newcastle Utd" player Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The fury from the Groomers (or is that fewry) about the John Terry substitution is amazing. It was cringeworthy from Chelsea to have planned this (compared to how Lahm ended his Bayern career), especially the lined up Chelsea guard of honor for him to leave the field. But calling it embarrassing or small time and a lack of respect to the traveling fans is amazing. Seems like an excuse to avoid the fact that their team got humped in the game, were shite all season and are finally getting flushed when no one will miss them. ***FLUSH***

Same emotional cycle with the Custard/Cream striped away shirt (or piss/puss as it was first called). But then we started winning games in that shirt and now it's a fan favourite clasic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
