I thought Collina was forced to step down due to his age 45, which is the mandatory ceiling for FIFA referees, even though everyone around the game seemed to be wanting him to be allowed to stay.

I also like the Fox Soccer (US) commentator Roger Valdivieso who does the Agentine League games on FSC because he is clearly a Boca Juniors fan and I tune in to watch the Boca games so I don't really mind. But he is knowledgable about Argentine soccer so he is good for the broadcast.

I liked him too. Him and Tommy Smyth and his onion bag. They were really enthusiastic and made the game feel a bit more epic than it was. Was bummed when they switched from ESPN to FSC, because we only get some crappy solo commentary on Euro games. There's nothing worse than solo commentary. I sort of feel this whenever I see the call for a "Salary Cap". Those only work when there is no competition from other leagues and the "capped" league is still the best payer. Works in NFL and NBA etc but would never work in football where you would have an immediate exodus to Spain or Italy etc

Puma, if you're reading this, just use this shirt The back of the Jersey is the trouble part - as numbers and names are hard to read without a patch of some shape or form. I felt the white patch on the back of the current jersey was too big (and would have been better black insted of white). So I wondered what the back of the jersey might look like if we used one of the mooted Puma designs. Did them both with/without names/numbers as it changes how they look. How often does that situation happen though? How often were goals actually ruled out for that in the past? Before the "interfering with play" qualifier was added, it was quite common for a play between the CM and LW be ruled out because the RW was offside, even though the ball was 50 yards away and not played anywhere near them. I didn't see the Belamy play, but I don;t see the problem with the offside rule(s) as they are.

Exactly.....as soon a player has mouthed off about a foul and given up another 10 yards or 20 the team discipline becomes much stronger. Funnily enough, the team captain starts behaving like a captain should and takes responsibility for his teams actions.

There is also a very handy tool in the referee's bag that let him move a Free Kick 10 yards up field for disent. Amazing how quickly your team mates shut you up if the mouth starts runnning and you start giving up yards. It's a great tool because it's not drastic like sending a player off (or to sin bin) but still penalises the offender.

The Leeds vid. The Leeds video is ripping Man Utd - and their bandwaggon fans....this was a line from them about how they failed to sign Shearer but got Sheringham.

I don't think Adidas is a good fit for Newcastle because they need the cram their "three stripes" onto our stripes and it clashes. A nice clean look with the Puma logo on our stripes would be great (as long as they can make a clean looking shirt)

Should be on BBC Sport shouldn't they? Can't watch it there if you live outside UK Really...why? Can anyone provide me a link to the goal on BBC sport? I'm assuming that is legal since it is on BBC BBC has geographic restrictions in place and if the IP address is not in UK, then you can't watch the clips.
