His distribution from defence really helps us and is sorely missed when he's not there. He may not be quick but his reading of the game compensates for that
-
Yesterday was his best game and hopefully restores some of his confidence which seems to be lacking
-
He is so good at ball retention it sometimes goes unnoticed. He seems to be getting a lot taller as well. He seems to have a good temperament and I really rate him
-
Best game he's had for a while
-
I really rate the guy. I know he's tall but when he goes to head the ball his feet hardly seem to leave the ground
-
At least we managed to maintain our record of conceding in injury time
-
Love the way he spins off the marker, looking forward to him playing the 90
-
Caecido is close to being sent off in a lot of the games I've watched so no surprise to me
-
He was yelling at the striker to try and put him off..... didn't work though
-
Need to keep him in the not fit category until Afcon name their squads
-
Annoying but, Pickford seems to be getting better and better
-
I know he's a good shot stopper but that's his job. It's all the other bits that collectively make him a good goalkeeper or not. Things like, distribution, commanding his area, punching, catching and decision making. I think that he is lees than average on those other bits. Think of Liverpool and Alison at their peak, Man City and Ederson, they were worth 9 points a season to their teams
-
It would be a step forward if he got rid of that f*cking headband
-
The man is class and makes our defence look so much better with better options when we transition out of defence
-
Can't see us playing him until the AFCON squad is sorted otherwise it will be one game then gone for another month
-
Wissa can't really return because he's not been here yet

Premiership football has become really unpredictable. Last season Liverpool won quite easily which was helped by the poorer performances from the other top teams, Man City, Chelsea, Man United, Spurs and to some degree, us. On the strength of that Liverpool have gone out and spent enormous sums of money on players who were expected to massively improve them and make their defence of the title much stronger. But on actual fact it hasn't happened and they are without doubt worse than before. The reason is not just Liverpool, we have Sunderland and Bournemouth up there knocking on the door plus Man City seem to have adopted a new approach and are looking good again. Because of the rat we were forced into buying new players and trying to change the way we play to accommodate them. We didn't get the players we wanted, we got what was left at the last minute. Eddie has a massive job on his hands to replicate some of our better performances

I think he would be brilliant in a Beardsley type roll just off the CF
-
We miss having Schar at the back because of his passing out of defence. At the moment we seem to build very little with direct balls from defence
-
Howe should have taken him off earlier. It was obvious what was going to happen
-
Gordon wouldn't have finished from that position
-
He seems to me that he is having some sort of mental issues and is carrying a burden. His confidence is shot and he did look right from the very beginning last night
-
Eddie was forced to try and transition because of the rat and didn't have the right players for that.

You are spot on. Bissaka must be one of the quickest full backs in the Premiership and knocking the ball past him then looking to outpace him was never going to work and Gordon must know that. He lost possession 3 times in the first 15 minutes because he couldn't go his normal route. He lost the ball later on and it led to a West Ham goal
