  1. Read the match report on Sky Sports text, Milners goal 'after good work by Harper'. Written as if it wasn't a strange event. Brought a smile to the chops
  2. Actually going to agree (a bit) with James. On song Dyer does give us something that most teams would love to get hold of - the ability to switch defence into attack instantaneously without simply hoofing it up to the big man (so to speak). Hes far from being the best in the world, but he does have immense pace, he can run with the ball, and he does have the ability to find the back of the net (given not enough though). If we can replace that for £5m or bring in someone to give us something different (eg Deco) then go for it, based purely on the risk of another breakdown. If we can't (and I suspect we can't) then it makes no sense to sell him unless Kieron has explicity asked to leave as he can no longer stay in the NE
  3. Deco. Not very likely maybe, although he has said he will leave if Barca tell him too so you never know....... If we could also bring in Diarra I'd ship Emre or Butt too
  4. http://www.football.co.uk/shared/images/players/players_9343.jpg Looks like he's jut caught some bloke in bed with his wife, doesn't know whether to cry or fly into a fit of rage
  5. Would love the spuds to sign Dyer and for him to get crocked straight away. Or West Ham and they get relegated re Tevez (still hoping!) Especially if we signed SWP to replace him
  6. Actually, they want me and Rocker available every Monday, seriously Using a different alias each week? Dear one of you to go on as Norm
  7. Damn internet connection went down! Waht was said (I've got the Sheff Utd/Crap team bit sorted)
  8. Would rather have this guy in the iddle of the park http://www.pspfanboy.com/media/2005/12/batista.jpg
  9. Seriously wouldn't surprise me one bit. Its not difficult to not let an injury fully heal and for it to hamper you for a few years, even relatively minor ones like a sprained ankle can twinge for a long time. A hamstring tear now, a twinge from that could play on your mind and subconciously knock a percentage off your performance
  10. Les Ferdinand Only 2 seasons at a 'top' team Stayed too long at QPR then injuries did him too early
  11. Yobo is worth £7m imo, at least you know you are getting a more than competant Premier League CB. For all anyone knows any of the foreign players could be another Boumsong, of course they could be another Stam. Paying to reduce the risk, would be the same with someone like Riise
  12. Unfortunately that can only happen if West Ham own Tevez As much as I'd love to see Man U docked points, for the greater good its better if MSI win this one and West Ham are forced to bend over and receive willingly
  13. Maybe the Bowyer-Gypsie curse wives tale had some truth to it after all!
  14. Nah, lets reinact Hot Fuzz. Reporter writes crap stories, church steeple falls on his head
  15. Another statement (Spanners) http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_2599959,00.html Interesting bit (for me anyway) "It is absolutely clear that the only contract relating to Carlos Tevez recognised by West Ham and the Premier League is the player's four-year contract which runs until June 2010. All other arrangements were terminated by West Ham on 27th April 2007 and no legal challenge to that termination has occurred." So West Ham terminated the contracts, not both parties. Not sure how long MSI have before they 'accept the contract through actions (ie not suing etc)' but it seems dodgya s feck for West Ham if that is what happened
  16. We actually bank with Barclays, well we certinly did pre-takeover
  17. Robots are non-gender specific And most female acountants look like men anyway
  18. In the reports you get two figures: (1) Profit pre trading (which is what a normal business would class as profit) (2) Profit after player trading (net buys and sales) - this is specific to sports clubs (and football in particular) To give it a personal slant, (1) would be what you or I pay out each year for our mortgages, car loans, credit card bills etc (2) Would show the value of your purchases So if you bought a new house for £200,000 and a car for £20,000 and had a salary of £20,000 (of which you pay £5,000 for your house and £5,000 for your car): (1) Shows a net 'profit' of £10,000 (2) Shows a 'loss' of £200,000 (this is very simplified accountancy btw so isn't 100% accurate but it gets the picture across!)
