All I'm saying is you can't blame them for asking the question. Of the 10 teams who went through tonight, there's only one to avoid.

To be honest, a good draw for them tomorrow and they're looking at a quarter final. There's many gash teams still in, all it takes is a couple of all Premiership ties in the next round and there'll be lots of shit still in the draw

    Bumming you say?
  4. If we somehow win, you know we're going to get Chelsea anyway. Of course, but it'd be nice to be involved
  5. Wish we didn't have Man Utd away, there's an uncanny amount of shite in the last 16
  6. Don't know the exact date of the next round but as it's internationals between 7th October and our game with them on the 21st, I'd suggest the next round is after the derby
  7. Makes me sick that James Richardson is on the BBC payroll somewhere and we only get to hear his voiceovers on the fucking football league show when he could be presenting MOTD2 instead of this cretinous wankstain.
  8. Strange old game today, first 15 minutes we were terrible before Pardew realised he'd got it wrong again and swapped Perch and Anita. Immediately we became more combative in midfield and that helped a great deal. The goal arrived shortly thereafter, not a direct result of the switch as the goal came from more Ben Arfa ability, but Harper deserves a lot of credit for hoying the ball to him quickly. It's something we haven't done for years, whoever our goalkeeper has been, but today Harper released the ball early 4 or 5 times and it really helps get some momentum going. The ball from Ben Arfa though was inch perfect and Ba finished it like a man in form. The balance in this team just isn't there though, I keep hoping it'll come good and maybe the return of Tiote and Coloccini will help but it's easy to forget we played pretty bad in a lot of games last season and found a way to win. Whilst this wasn't as bad as Wigan at home last year, it was similar at times but thankfully we scored about an hour earlier. We finished the season playign some great stuff in the much talked about formation and I honestly think it's a matter of preparation. Last season Pardew had pretty much one game a week to worry about and could spend 6 days preparing a team to play a certain formation. This season we've got Europe to contend with, and I believe Pardew has decided to run with 4-4-2 as everybody knows 4-4-2 and there is less time to prepare to play other formations. When he had 2 weeks to plan during the internationals, we cracked out a 4-5-1. Maybe I'm chatting shit but just a theory I've come up with - rather than the usual stuff about Ba hating the left wing anyway. If we've got Ba who won't play on the left and Anita who prefers to play centre mid and Pardew is pandering to their needs despite the defincies it seems to create, it's a bit of a worry. Anyway, the set pieces were a lot better today because they weren't anything flashy, just hung up to the back stick for people to compete for. Williamson won just about everything but isn't a goal threat, and then Norwich decided to wipe him out. Nothing more to say about the pen that hasn't already been said, Cisse is desperately out of form and never looked confident of scoring, swapping the pen taker over is never a good idea really. Second half the ref decided to play prison rules which didn't help anybody, both sides made some half chances and Cisse & Ba each fluffed a one on one but it was the subs who made the most impact. Obertan came on (and got a few boos) and then played like a fanny and got a few more. Then he got twatted in the head which seemed to daze him further. I really want to like this kid but he's just terrible 95% of the time. At least he's not keeping HBA out of the team anymore. Tiote came on to win knob of the day, just played like a total cock, held on to the ball in ridiculous areas and was halfed for his trouble, so he forearm smashed Michael Turner. Fair game. A total air shot nearly set up a Norwich counter attack too, so welcome back. Williamson, Ben Arfa, Perchinio & Santon our standouts, honourable mentions for Gutierrez who covered some amazing ground and Taylor & Harper who were solid. Anita did well again at right back without pulling up any trees, Ba took his goal well & Cisse needs a goal to go in off his arse or something. Neil Swarbrick is an idiot. Also fair play to the man dressed as a giant mobile phone who pulled off a great full length diving save to deny some kid whatever the prize was in the half time entertainment. A truly outstanding save, although his first save nearly killed him and it went in anyway.
  9. Decent first half, its really cold. Still amazed i can use the internet in the ground. Atrocious pen, dont know whats happened to Cisse but its weird. Ben arfa a class above, fair play to harper, his quick distribution led to the goal and some other decent attacks. Need a 2nd goal as they have a goal in them
  10. I'd guess definite starters are Obertan, Vuckic, Shola & Bigirimana if they're all fit, Sammy a sub. At a guess I'd say Tav will play somewhere across the back 4 but elsewhere it's matter of who Pards risks with Sunday in mind. Based on that I'll go for: Elliot Tavernier Williamson Perch Santon Bigirimana Anita Obertan Vuckic Marveaux Shola Would like to have Ferguson in the team but can't see it after playing 90 tonight. Surprised Gosling & Abeid both played 90 tonight too, as either of them could slot into that team and give us Anita as an extra option at full back. Maybe Tiote will be back and get an hour if he was close to making it for Everton?
  11. Didn't realise you could have over-aged players in this, assume it's limited to a certain amount like the Olympic football. mackems had Vaughan, Saha & Kilgallon playing so a good draw for our kids. NEWCASTLE UNITED U21: Alnwick, Abeid, Richardson (Moyo 69), Good, Ferguson, Ameobi, Newton, Gosling, Hooper, Inman, Campbell. Subs not used: Mitchell, Nicholson, Riley, Maddison SUNDERLAND U21: Pickford, Laing, Kilgallon, Egan, Adams, Ji, Reed, Vaughan, Knott (Mitchell 83), Wickham (Laidler 60), Saha. Subs not used: Dixon, Ferguson, Marrs
  12. Just looking at the Championship..Peterborough played 6, lost 6. Fergie Jnr doing a great job.
  13. Observations: Fellaini is just so...detestable. Like a Dad playing with his kids but being a prick and not letting them have the ball. Then stamping on them. Perch has never had a good game at right back. Perch has never had a bad game in centre midfield (Spurs away aside) Anita loves a little dink forwards, spends too much time with Williamson. Good right back though. HBA...when the team is shit, he is mint. When the team is good, he is less mint. Discuss. Cabaye - welcome back, I have missed you. Jonas with his hair down. I don't like change. Baines has a very punchable face. Anichebe...nice dive for the free kick. Glad it was ruled out. Good finish on the actual goal to be fair to him. Shola was compared to Michael Jordan, I expect he'll retire tomorrow having achieved sporting pinaccle. Ba, fair play, came on and changed the game. Doesn't seem happy though, add to that his brothers keen to criticise tweet and you just hope that's the end of any bad feeling. Some twitter twats said Obertan refused to come on. Some will be pleased with Gabriel's nouse. Harper can't kick but he is seemingly is incapable of passing it short, which leads to long ball rubbish. Please return soon Tim. Distin probably should have cleared the second goal but oddly chose to do some sort of weird scissory thing. Good lad. Santon was class Moyes bought a suit, was odd. Didn't like it. Change isn't good.
  14. Pardew will spin it saying he needs a fully fit striker for Thursday, can't play 3 games in 6 days etc.

  16. Coleman wiping out Nolan when one on one was pretty awful refereeing too.
  17. Dembele didn't get the assist for that Defoe goal, seems a bit harsh
  18. It sounded like James Richardson...was it?
  19. Might as well turn MOTD off now, I've sat through this dross once and then there's two nil-nil's
