  1. Who said that? I think however that you need to try and do something to win a game. Rodgers did well here and got a goal fast. WBA make a change and get a goal = Pardew is a cunt Liverpool do it and Chelsea concede = Rodgers did good. That sums up the mentality at the moment.

Not just the fixtures - the lack of signings and the fact our better players were away at the Euro's and barely played a pre-season game was not a good way to start the season. Last season was light years better by comparison.

We had a sham of a pre-season and it's been catching up with us ever since.
  4. Am I right in thinking Allardyce cracked out a surprise 3-5-2 that day?
  5. Every single thread has anti-Pards stuff in it, it's getting silly. New signings? Why bother, Pardew will wreck them. Guthrie any use to us? No, Pards sucks. Anita? Pardew is stifling him. Carroll? Will encourage Pardew's bad football. The other games? Everybody better than us because of Pardew. Shitfest on here at the minute
  6. As I've resigned myself to being stuck with Pardew for the foreseeable future, I just keep telling myself it'll be different next season - a full pre-season for key players, nothing but domestic fixtures, hopefully more luck with injuries, a few summer signings. It won't be though
  7. We've generally played the ball on the deck a lot more at home since January, it's just in the final third we have no fucking idea and end up lumping a cross in. Anita's had a handful of good games - ironically mostly over the winter when we were at our worst - and I think Perch does the "ball winning" role better than he does. I'm not writing him off though, there's plenty of players who haven't been brilliant in their first season and gone on to prove their worth, and I hope Anita is the same.
  8. First half we were very good, should have been a couple of goals up. Second half they brought Long on and we shit ourselves and sat on our own goal line. Again. Annoying.

He's spot on. Pardew even said () when Ba was sold it would allow us to play Cabaye in the number 10 role. Instead Sissoko has played there, and after an initial good start has faded badly. I really don't know where Sissoko fits in, he'll be an asset if used correctly but I'm not sure we know where that'll be. I'd like to see him deeper but it seems to leave us very open when the wingers are pushed well on.
  10. Doesn't really feel like we've had that many though. To be fair, we haven't. I've done a quick count and got 8, this will be our 9th
  11. We've won something like two Saturday 3pm's all season, sick of these cunts ruining the weekend

Some moron mackem said this to me the other day: "You mag idiots were holding up 5-1 with your fingers when it was 0-3, what sad acts. We finished above you that year anyway so it meant nothing" So I said: "Hopefully we finish above you this year then and we can all forget about the 0-3" Of course that was met with "no, na, still beat ya 3-0, can't erase this from history" mackem logic.
  13. Just find a way to win and get our survival secured. Can't wait for this season to end, been as bad as I can remember. Even in the seasons we were finishing 13th we'd win the occasional home game by a couple of goals. That has happened twice this season in the league, plus Bordeaux. It has yet to happen away. For this game, well, you'd like to think they have nothing to play for and we'll have a performance in us to make up for today's wreck, but I just can't see it. Interestingly last time the mackems beat us we played WBA at home in the next game and won 2-1, hopefully an omen. We absolutely robbed WBA up here, Lukaku was ragging us all over until they oddly subbed him and reverted to play Long in down the channels, which in itself was still troublesome, especially for Colo. So either way, we're going to be stretched. He must play Haidara at full back, Jonas is ok there in an emergency but no excuse to ever start him there when everyone's fit. He'll keep HBA as sub, it's the Pardew way, and Mbiwa will miss out on Colo based on Pardew saying he needs a rest. He also said Cabaye needs a rest, but I'm not sure who he'll put in instead - Jonas or Perch knowing Pardew, when it should really be Anita if he has any sort of future. We'll be lucky to get a point, will play shit and Cisse will be offside a lot. 2-0.
  14. It's Sian Massey on the line, what do fascists think of women in the work place?
  15. Sometimes you get odd goal scorers in these games, so I'm going 1-1; Rose for them, Mbiwa for us.
  16. Cardiff in red, Forest in blue. Urgh.
  17. Browsing RTG earlier, a few of them reckon Wickham is injured for tomorrow. However one mad bastard has an 18 year old starting up front, so I don't know what to believe.

If we win tomorrow I fancy us to finish in the top half, think we'll play with the freedom we did in "that" spell of last season.
  19. Play off place in the Europa League right?, could be a tough one and a real possibility that they wouldn't reach the group stages. If they did (and even more unlikely if they managed to get out of the group stages) then it could really fuck them up in the league if they are still in the Premiership next year. Also if Chelsea win tomorrow they could still manage to finish 6th and miss out on Europe, so them winning the FA Cup could would mean that Wigan wouldn't get a Europa League place. Correct but can you see Chelsea finishing 6th. They'd only have to finish 5th.
  20. Hopefully Chelsea win and finish 5th, then the runners up won't be in Europe.

Does Di Canio do any work or does he just spend all his time talking to the media?
  22. Is he a defensive midfielder? No, not big enough. Is he creative? Not really. Box to box? Can't see it. Winger? Not in 4231, probably not in 4-4-2 let's be honest. Only way I can see him working is in a 3 man midfield with a proper bodyguard in there and Cabaye creating - basically doing the leg work, fetching and carrying. Basically in the formation we finished last season with, put him alongside Tiote and play Cabaye further forward - but that means Sissoko wide or not involved, so an unnecessary involvement really.
  23. Insane that, Tiote's been bad this season but he's a better bet than Anita in our current set up. Anita does nothing.
