That's a crazy number and shows that for all the complaints about the rich owners, most of the action is occurring because the British consumer. The money flow is basically British consumer -> Sky -> football clubs -> foreign football clubs. It all starts with the British consumer who seemingly can't get enough of football on TV. I think the biggest beneficiary, besides Sky, are owners of second tier foreign clubs as they're able to ask for insane prices for their clubs. The biggest losers are owners of top tier foreign clubs who don't have their own domestic TV money to support their spending, meaning they either have to fork over their own money or accept that they can't compete at the top of the market.

Jamaal Lascelles (now playing for League One Leicester City)

What's his vert? 45"? Looks like he could have been an NBA player with that jump. -
Exactly - and you've seen where the policy has got us. Relegated twice. I'd hasten a guess that Rafa thought he had a greater budget left than he actually had as Murphy was fairly early in the window from memory. We've never targeted young local players like Murphy. Lascelles is, if I remember correctly, our most expensive young British bought in the last 5 years. Our policy has been cheap foreigners which resulted in relegation.

Fans complain about agents, clubs complain about agents, but I don't really see players complaining about agents and they're the most important people in this issue. I also don't see why fans complain about agents, they're only working for the players. The rise in incomes for footballers is a good thing, even if clubs lose money (which they generally don't).

Fuck off talking about a good player leaving the club. He's played 3 games for us. He reminds me a lot of Speed. Less physical but better on the ball. We have a good manager who will hopefully be supported next summer. If he's supported, there's no reason we have to sell Merino.

They don't look threatening. I don't understand the worry about our possession percentage. This is going to be our game plan away from home the whole season, better get used to it. It's a much more clever defensive setup than the crap Pardew used to do. More watchable because we seem to be targeting things when we break. Wish we had a couple of better offensive players.

Was he looking at the ball? That's the main thing. I thought the ball was passed Hayden before he even attempted the tackle, and the tackle came in hard. What tackle? He ran into him, nowhere to go. Is a foul because Hayden blocked him but not a yellow. The replay showed he put his leg straight into Sanches' body, and the ball was pass Hayden by the time he did it.
