Stay home then

I'm afraid we're already expecting too much of a team after only one game. Especially a team adapting to new formations and at the same time having a few new players as well. A draw would be alright, 4 points from our first couple of games would have pleased me before the start of the season. Will be a tight game and I expect Villa to create more than they did against Liverpool but I'm hoping the crowd will be the difference here. 2-1 to us.

the optimism in the forum atm!!

Very well-written match report I must say. Brings a smile to my face to read things like this and this

51 pts. Not a bad start. There's still a long long way to go folks.
-
It's the first game of the season man Based on our first day, don't think Brazil at their best could beat us
-
Where's Saha? And Solsjkaer as well?
-
Fuck off. That's only a yellow card.

Didn't see Rooney run out of the tunnel so he may have been subbed off.

That was only over Barton. If we can get past that ... If we can get past that?!?!?! It's kind of a big stumbling block considering Barton won't be leaving the club £££££'s and a long-term contract. Lets not head down that route again.

Out of all these posts i cant belive that only a handful of posters has pointed out the most important thing he said in that entire article...bollocks to the signings, its the quote above. It show how ignorant nufc fans are when they are unable to assess the effects of there booing on a players performnace. In the end, we're all supporters and thats exactly what she should f****** doing. In my humble opinion you support till the very last second. People are quick to point out how "we are the best supporters in the world" its the same people who seem to forget that at times, we can also be the most destructive. Good post mate. It's imperative that the fans, especially those going to home games, realise how much they can actually affect the game. We can't have players not being confident when performing at home.

You have to realise that the boy has a life to live as well. We would be calling him stupid if he had stayed on here and get something like 10 games a season. Same reason people Harper gets some stick. He seems to lack 'ambition'. Chopra had to move on, which he did, and then a career opportunity came up which really was impossible to turn down. Honestly, if you have a chance to move from an average first division team into a Premiership team on the up (can't believe I said that), would you really turn it down? If you have pride and confidence in your ability, you say yes instantly because you believe you'll succeed and then you can move onto bigger things. That's why Chopra signed for them.

Maybe it's just because I'm not Geordie, wasn't born anywhere near Newcastle so I don't really feel a territorial rivalry with Sunderland, so there's no fucking way I'm turning down £4m to play for them. No fucking way. Pride over money for your family? Fuck off. If anyone actually uses the excuse of 'pride' then they're incredibly selfish. If I can sort out my family's life in 4 years, bet your arse it's done in a second. Family over pride, any second of the day. Question: Do you think Wayne Rooney's family talks to him? Didn't he say 'I'll never ever sign for them' and then went on to sign for Manyoo two or three weeks later? Do you think his family has no pride? Do you think he has no pride? Bear in mind the step up from Everton to Manyoo, and the step up from Cardiff to Sunderland is actually quite comparable.

Suppose you're right. Man City, Spurs, Villa and Everton will be the teams we'll watch for, it's no coincidence we have fans from those four teams contributing to our boards as they probably feel the same way about us. Yep. City was the real surprise of the day (excluding us ). Played really well (according to my City mate) and picked up a really good 3 points away from home (which was one of their weaknesses last season). Everton did what was expected so no worries there. More said about the Spurs result the better

Didn't see it. At least he didn't in the first 10 seconds of his celebration. Ran to the corner and did a little jump then the camera cut away I think.

The more teams that are likely to challenge us drop points now, the better. Villa have dropped at least a point today, and Spurs have dropped 3. Good stuff.
-
Good for the boy I say. Good finish as well.

Alan Smith (my MotM) will prove to be more important than Geremi
Taylor Swift replied to Parky's topic in Football
My hands are up, I doubted this signing from the first time it was mentioned, especially for the £6m fee. However, what a great start to his Newcastle career. He has the drive, passion and actual ability that's been missing from our team for awhile (especially center midfield) and considering the ANC and how we'll miss Geremi then, this signing already looks like an astute one. Well done Sam. Geremi Barton Smith TASTY! PS. Knee-jerk as fuck what a great start! -
Great start. Wow. Unbelievable first half an hour. Smith was every-fucking-where. Already a legend in my book. Geremi was involved though it's obvious that he can be more influential. Milner stood out, was always trying to get involved and the boy has end product now. Great game for the kid, really proud of how much he's grown up in a couple of seasons. A few bad points - we didn't create many chances though obviously we didn't have to by scoring 2 so early. Still, it's something I haven't really seen ie. creating chances from open play. Our defence still doesn't look comfortable. Whenever I see Carr my heart just goes weak. Really need a good RB, especially if Solano is fucking off to WH. Saying all that, what a fucking first match we're gonna win the league

It'd be stupid if we let them 'buy out' their contract. Dyer's contract isn't worth £6m, and if it was bought out, would be for something like £3m or £4m, not the £6m we were going to get for his transfer fee.
