LOUD NOISES!!
-
Have people forgotten about Villa at home and Boro away?? We're still unable to play some solid football when the players are put into a 4-3-3. And if Sam's going to stick with this, then we shouldn't be expecting 10, 11 or 12 points from the next few games. We're a team in transition, a team concentrating on getting points on the board, not going all-out for wins. 8 points from the next 4 games would make me a more than satisfied fan.

I think the curly c in Spanish/Portuguese is pronounced 'ss', like Barcelona. In Turkish though, the c becomes a 'j' sound. Can see why it would cause confusion. -
Carling Cup 2nd Round - Newcastle vs Barnsley (29/08/07)

Hopefully Owen gets off the mark, Emre and Zog give good performances in midfield to cause a selection headache for Allardyce and lastly for Enrique to do well on his debut, which hopefully accompanied by a decent performance by Zoggy, would give Allardyce some food for thought about whether to go with the 4-4-2 this Saturday. -
Is there? That, the video from the Blackburn game away last season and several other anecdotes from a few people on here would suggest that there is. Surely you could say that about any group of supporters of any team in the world, though? Personally, I won't deny that I know/know of plenty of bigoted/racist/sexist Newcastle fans, but the same applies to fans of other clubs that I know as well. Yes you could. But the point is that there is an unpleasant element out there and is something the club should probably take a look into.

We already know that. Not that it's anything to be proud of. And I'm brown btw, if that will make a difference. -
I've noticed that our defence seems to be backing off the ball so much more so than they've done in the past. Hopefully this is something that's meant to happen and not them being afraid of being told off by BS after getting skinned by the attacker or something equally dodgy.

Sevilla's Antonio Puerta dies after collapsing on the pitch

RIP. -
Would trump everything Manyoo's done in the summer with one move Go on, get him in. Would love to see him in the Premiership.

I still need time to recover if that match pops up on the tv. It's impossible to watch anything after 3-3. One of the worst feelings I've ever felt was just switching channels and seeing the match was on, it was 3-3, but I couldn't change the channel. There's some twisted attraction to watching that 4th goal and feeling like shit all over again. Probably my most hated game because most of my mates are Liverpool fans as well.

I'm with Johnny here. -
Bale did look class in the game. His drivings run, even from he was shifted to LB, really caused trouble for Manyoo. And of course his set-pieces from both sides were quality. The boy has a big future ahead of him, that's for sure.

FT. Spurs played really well in the second half. Personally thought they deserved at least a point especially with the clear penalty and all. Good result for us though with them still being stuck on 3 points after 4 matches.
-
Was a penalty before that. It was blatant for me. But of course, this is Old Trafford we're talking about... a penalty for the away team is unheard of.

Hopefully we'll win this one but a draw wouldn't be too bad if the performance is decent. What everyone should be concerned about is the performance, which hopefully won't be too defensive. -
What if a player is tackled outside the area but kind of stumbles and then falls a yard or two in the penalty area? Would that be a free-kick outside the area or a penalty?
-
Has anyone considered the fact that we might get drawn to play away in every cup game next season? Still, even if that happens, you won't lose a thing because the cost will be equivalent to paying for two season tickets. I think this is a smart idea to try and get more people to show up at our home cup matches, whether they're against Barnsley or whoever. It's a good scheme which will hopefully make the atmosphere at our home matches better.

Jol on the brink? Breaking news:Ramos snubs huge Spurs offer.
Taylor Swift replied to Parky's topic in Football
Finishing 5th is hardly an achievement when you've spent twice as much as everybody outside the top 4 clubs. The board backed him last summer yet he managed to finish further away from the top 4 than the previous season and it doesnt look like he's improved the squad this season either. Can anyone explain what Martin Jol is actually good at that makes people rate him because as far as i can see it's not squad building, tactics, substitutions or man management. Jol's spent fuck all. It's Comolli who's been spending the money. The left side of midfield is quite baffling but the Taraabt kid looks exciting. -
Ref has now said (via the 4th official) that no card was given to Essien, the only card that was given was to JT. But, what is someone suppose to think when the ref shows a yellow card to Essien's face and Essien reacts by placing his hands above his head in disbelief, and then proceeds to give a card to John Terry half a minute later. What an idiot referee.
-
he's given Essien two yellows but he's still on the pitch!
-
Rob Styles thinking he's the main attraction, again. What an idiot.
-
Gerrard aint bad at diving either. But this guy takes it to a new level. Cue the media going mental at him over the next few weeks, and rightly so. He didn't dive for the penalty though. I don't think he even appealed for it.
-
Never in a month of Sundays I did say it was dodgy man. I don't agree with the decision but from the ref's viewpoint, he would have noticed a nudge and wouldn't have been able to judge how hard it was because of the angle that he was viewing it from. That's why I said I can see why the ref might have thought it was a penalty.
