It's just the profit that doesn't count. So, for example, Wissa's book value this summer will still be around £44m. If we sold him for £50m to Saudi, it'd only count as £44m. The bigger issue for me is UEFA applying to same rules when two clubs sell players to each other in the same window. If my understanding of the rules are right, it'd mean if we did sell Tino to Man City, we'd pretty much be unable to buy a Man City player, such as Trafford, as suddenly UEFA SCR would count about £10m of Tino's sale at that point.

Problem is, doesn't UEFA have some stupid rule for when two clubs buy players from each other in the same window? I think you can only claim the book value of the player for PSR purposes in that situation. So, it's pretty much impossible for a club like us to trade a player with Man City.

There is a 'no profit' rule which means you can only count the book value towards SCR when selling a player to a related party. That was my understanding and I just checked with AI and it agrees with me (but AI is dodgy so could be wrong). So under SCR we should be able to still sell him for 40m or so to a Saudi club.
