Kevin Nolan's attitude has been a "disgrace" this season too, apparently. The difference is Nolan actually does somthing usefull, like score goals aye and some people still say he's s**** too! Nolan is s****. His abysmal fitness will be exposed next season. Sad but True.

I never want to see us buy a player for 'experience' ever again. The idea the 'experience' is beneficial is a complete phallacy 95% of the time. This should be stencilled around the Boardroom walls in 2 foot high letters lest anyone in charge ever forget the reason we nearly went the way of Leeds.
  3. Loved the bit when their keeper try to clatter Shola on the edge of the box. Shola never flinched and the keeper looked like he was taking a boxing count before he managed to stagger up again.
  4. Time now to drop the Hooligan inspired chants of "We are the Geordie boot boys" and the appallingly uneccesary "Your support is fucking shit" The latter raging out at true fans of many of the clubs we have met this season. In the main these are fans who have avoided the easy option of jumping on the bandwagons of ManU or Liverpool in order to loyally follow their own teams. We witnessed good sportsmanship last night from the Plymouth club in their despair of relegation. Their support was certainly not fucking shit nor are the countless other great fans of all the smaller clubs it has been an eye opening honour to mix with this season. A humbling example in fraternity and sportsmanship should be seen as a lesson in how to gain respect from your opponents. Alas I fear it will be forgotten as usual when one of the favourite pantomime villains visits on Saturday. It would be a shame if the atmosphere was soured by torrents of dog wanking chants in preference to the Blaydon Races. Plymouth have shown us the way. Let us learn from it.
  5. They need to win to stay up so this will be no cakewalk if we are not at full strength. Could be a draw tonight I think.

    CLUB FOR SALE!!

We could be witnessing the demise of Liverpool, get your prayer mats out!
  7. We absolutely cannot repeat the mistakes of the relegation season and carry anyone in midfield or we we will struggle again. We will see in the close season if Hughton can be as ruthless as Keegan. Keegan despite his nice guy image would absolutely show no sentiment in jettisoning an unfit player like Nolan as he would know the shortcomings of a player good in the championship but not good enough for the premiership. Nolan will need to do some serious pre season work to impress the manager with his fitness IMO. I hope he does because he is not too old yet to get back to his peak.

I went to the game last night. My overall impression was that Villa seem to have a policy of selecting players firstly of skill and technique, Hence half of their team were too small and easily knocked about. Our lads generally looked much bigger and stronger. Maybe in a couple of years time those Villa lads will have grown and will be all the better for their experiences and maybe some of our lads are already as good as they will get. Anyway our Centre backs look big and dominant if a little slow, Our midfield looked busy and creative. (nice to see in a Newcastle side) Terry Macs lad looked good as did the redheaded lad in there. Airey was a big threat up front and was wrongly chalked off side with a great glancing header which should have been his second goal. He also just failed to get on the end of a Vukic cross second half and had a tremendous free kick spectacularly tipped over the bar by the Villa keeper. Airey was excellent but his swedish partner Adjei had an off night. He could have killed Villa off in the first minute of the second half had he composed himself in front of goal but he sent his shot into row Z of the empty Holte end. Vukic looked too strong for Villas little kids when he came on but looked a bit off the pace, early days after injury I suppose. On the face of it it looks as though at this stage of their development our lads should be too big and strong for this mainly diminutive Villa side although it would be interesting to see the same lads in a year or twos time and see how they have grown. Out of interest I will keep the programme and see how many names on it come through.
  11. To quote Adrian Chiles "Its the hope that kills you." You have to be over 54 years old to have seen us win a major domestic honour, but according to the press we are all too impatient and should tone down our expectations. Personally I dont know one fellow fan who ever expects to win anything as we are so used to dissapointment. (is that wet enough)?

Midlands Mags get yourself down to Villa park tonight 7pm KO. 3 quid to get in the Trinity Road stand or the Holte End I will be there looking forward to seeing if our youth policy is up to competing with a club that has consistently turned out youngsters challenging for their first team squad.
  13. Everyone please take note of this truth and remember it when they stir the shit about our club.
  14. Smith, Nolan and Butt syndrome. Any two from those three together and you have an uphill battle. Most people on here know this. You would think the management would by now.
  15. They will have four of their best players missing today because of injuries.
  16. Am I the only one who cant help thinking they got the attendance wrong on Monday. The only empty seats seemed to be in an area at the North end of the Milburn stand which numbered perhaps in the low hundreds. Everywhere else looked pretty full.

I assume this is a pisstake? It has to be
  18. In Leviticus it also says it is an abomination to eat shellfish, so is everyone who eats a seafood pizza condemned? In John 3:16 it says whosoever believes in God will have life everlasting, making no distinction between sexualities. Note "Whosoever" not whosoever as long as you are straight. In Flinstones : it says " have a yabadabadoo time, a dabadoo time, we'll have a gay old time" The burning question is, Were Fred and Barney shagging each other?
  19. what the f***ing hell is that defender doing with his arms? Looks like he just dropped his semaphore flags.
  20. We will lose this now. Corals beckons to get a wedge on Doncaster to soften the blow of defeat. At 11-5 good odds.
  21. I think that's a good point. Although defenders were slower and there was generally more time and space to operate, referees gave far less protection to skilful players. In terms of the challenges that attackers faced, it evens itself out. Although Cruyff didn't have the level of ability that the other three had in getting past defenders, I think I'd still rate him as the best player I've seen. He was a real leader who could dominate a game and raise the level of his team's performance. Dutch football was second rate until he came on the scene. Cruyff was my choice too. Apart from great skill he could always go up a gear to get away from an opponent too. Made him look serene and not exerting himself while everyone else would be puffing and blowing to keep up. Jonas is the best now ! (biased opinion of course).
