The Freddie Shepherd bit reminds us just how completely shit the club has been run for so long. So frustrating.
-
Perfectly understandable. 2nd only to the Mancs in the armchair fan brigade.

I cant stand Ashley for getting us relegated through his ill informed decisions. I can't believe the latest one re the stadium. However continued protests and general negative chants at games if persisted with will by January have chipped away at team moral sufficiently to convince some of the better players to want to jump ship in the transfer window. Especially if we are not top like we precariously are now. Bids will come in for one or two key players who Ashley will sell IMO. Its a pessimistic view but one that I can clearly see coming to pass. We have to cling on to the hope that we can keep top spot and limp back up by getting behind and supporting what we have got. Difficult as it is we need to keep the protests away from the 90 minutes of play at all costs.

He will never be fit now because hes old. This club is where it is now because of constantly throwing money at has beens who are swarmed all over by fit young premier league starlets (last year) and now fit young nonentities (in championship). Get the younguns in and lets hear no more of this nonsense please.

Can we get people just to stay till the end of the game! that would be a start. Imagine a full ground at the final whistle, just like it should be. I,m all for that.
-
New names can only really work if the ground is pulled down and rebuilt elswhere IMO. This would have no chance as nomatter what the official anouncement was I expect we would all carry on calling it St. James pk. Wouldnt we?

Phil Brown leaves Hull?...No, but the chairman does.

Phil Brown quote today " the players are behind me one million percent" Priceless what an absolute Goon. -
We should never be afraid to give youth its chance, They can only improve with more time on the field. Its when you throw them all on together like at Peterborough when it is stupid.
-
Hes shite anyway, no big loss, slow as fuck
-
Harwood off for Ranger 4 games too late the stupid twatts

Is the support for the team really effective? Ask yourself that seriously. Is the protest against Ashley really effective? Support may not have a positive effect, but it's a hell of alot better than protesting, which brings more ill-feeling. Why not just locate a mentally unstable person and convince said person that Ashley needs to die, then buy said person a gun and a ticket to wherever Ashley may be located? Now we're talking Lets have a whip round!

Butt and Nolan in midfield together. We were relegated by fielding a team full of unfit hasbeens so should we be surprised at a central midfield today carrying on that unwise policy. Harewood instead of Ranger is just taking the piss to compound things.

Ive made the effort a few times this season but just cant bring myself to suffer again. Its a 400mile round trip. I wonder how many more long suffering idiots like me will throw in the towel. We usually see a lot on the way up the M1 & A1 on matchday. Think the crowd will be down this time myself. The criminal lack of proper leadership from the clubs hierarchy kills enthusiasm to support anyway. The contrast with Boros Gibson speaking out yesterday about his hopes and aspirations for his club under their next manager was inspiring. If only we had a commited, clued up owner/chairman like that.

Newcastle vs. Doncaster - Pre-match Thread - 24/10/09 - K/O @ 15:00

Ranger must play tomorrow, He breaks the mould of has beens and plodders that have slowed this team down for 2 years in that he is an athlete with speed and a prodigous leap. No-one else to match these attributes at the club. Now that really isnt rocket science to see that. -
He will once he gets a fucking game!

We've got a winger in LuaLua but he needs a number of games before we will know what he can do. He has loads of pace and he's direct but he hasn't got the experience or bottle to shout at his team mates for the ball, which will only come with games. LuaLua would have defenders shitting if he used his pace to run at them. I’d play Jonas on the left wing as he’s the best we’ve got in that position and I think he’d play better if we had a threat on the other wing and we weren’t trying to play everything down one wing all of the time when we do play wide. I’d also play Ranger and Lovenkrands up front and keep Carroll and Harewood to come off the bench in the second half if needed. Ranger was playing really well and just needs his first goal to go in and then I think he’ll become a much more dangerous player. He’s going to gain nothing from sitting on the bench at this time in his career, he needs games. Lovenkrands seems to have more pace and control than both Harewood and Carroll and I’d expect him to do more with the ball if played to his feet than the other two. Our central midfield should be Smith and Guthrie from the start but Guthrie should be replaced in the second half as he doesn’t have the stamina to play 90 minutes. We’ve very little creativity in the centre of our midfield so we need something else to worry the opposition. The only thing we have to offer is playing the ball wide to spread play and we’re not doing that because of who we are playing. At last an incisive footballing analysis of what we need to do to get our best side out and get the opposition on the back foot. This line up would make things happen in the crucial last third

Is there any need for such blatant Ronaldo baiting on a Sunday? What is really annoying is that in Ranger we a genuine exciting prospect with real athleticism and pace who has looked to have grown and improved with every minute he has spent on the field. So what have we done. Relegated him to the bench with last minute cameos of course. Get the lad starting Houghton, he would have made that centre back work harder yesterday and the Bristol donkey two weeks ago who must not have believed his luck at his stroll in the park at St. James.
-
I'll say it again. IMO if the management choose Harewood ahead of Ranger they want shooting. We were relegated for putting hasbeens first. It seems we are learning precisely nothing.

Anyone going into Nottingham from the southern end to the game beware as police are closing all the roads around Ratcliffe on Soar power station today to thwart the climate protestors. This will affect the 1st exit off the M1. Funny how they have one of the countries key coal fired power stations despite being the home of the scabs as someone has humuorously pointed out earlier in the thread. An airing of a few scab chants this afternoon may be an appropriate reminder to them that they have no coalmines anymore to feed their big power station (probably comes from Poland now).

A bit late for my post match comment but feel I have to congratulate Marlon Harewood on doing a very passable impression of a man wearing a deep sea diving suit on the pitch. The bloke was in the big Bristol centre halfs pocket and barely won a header or got there first to a through ball or pass all game. Very dissapointing but not altogether surprising after what my Villa supporting friends had told me to expect.

Newcastle v QPR, 19:45 Wednesday, 30 September 2009 Pre Match Thread

he seems to have forgotten how to shoot alright. Anyway With colo raylor and possibly all out could taviner get a call up to the rb slot? Anyone who saw him last week in cc how did he do? He was excellent considering the team as a whole were poor and they were under the cosh. For a young 17 year old despite those conditions he performed admirably on the night. He is another youngun we should have no qualms about playing when needed. -
All he has to do is get out and the chants will stop. We are top of the league despite him hanging around looking to make a buck, and quite frankly he deserves everything thats pelted at him from the fans at the minute. Great performance from the team, I hope we still have one in January. Dont feel sorry for Ashley, its time he fucked off. Its a miracle we are top.

Cheeky Bastards ! Its a good job I dont get it
