Our current midfield would create next to nothing in the Premiership. We must have the only midfield in the country who struggle to keep up with the match officials. This got us relegated and it may yet be our undoing in the promotion stakes never mind next season in the prem.

Just got in from game. Before getting too carried away with the result I have to say Coventry were absolutely shocking and bereft of any idea how to play good football. Despite such poor opposition we contrived to concede posession in the middle of the park far too much for my liking and if Coventry were not so inept we should surely have been punished. We are lucky to get away with Smith and Butt in central midfield together on this showing. However we looked to have some width and were bright on the flanks with Pancake and Jonas always striving to get on the ball. Coloccini dominated the back line. Shola scored but looked well short of match fitness. Pleasingly Harewood looked interested when he came on and Ranger could have scored another goal before he scored from a Harewood cross if it wasnt for a last ditch clearance on the line from a Coventry defender. There is good movement up front with Nile there, you can see the defenders uncertainty when he is putting himself about. Good result against possibly the worst Coventry team I have ever seen.

Never an easy game at Cov. They will be very motivated for this one. I hope Harewood can be bothered getting a sweat on. We wont be able to carry two if Butt ends up playing.

He would have been off and running goalwise by now if he had been given enough starts. A blind man can see his pace, power and agility are too much for a lot of the opponents. He cant hurt them while sitting on the bench. Massively frustrating to watch him being held back.
