Its a good way to dull the pain by backing the opponents. If you add certs like Liverpool, Man utd, Celtic etc. It allows you to take an interest in them winning while giving a little financial compensation too ease the hurt of our inevitable defeats. We might as well get something out of our demise and the hated so called top clubs success. If we win then you dont care if the bet loses. Just ask yourself how much would pay to see Newcastle win. If they do, great, if not, your in the money! Theres a certain logic to it.

The bloke cannot run. What is he doing at our club? Is there not anyone in the reserves or in the championship who can replace him? What is going on? How can a premier league side field players who cannot run? Am I missing something ? Someone please enlighten me!

I have a very worrying feeling they'll stay up They're fighting amongst themselves, losing games, picking up injuries and suspensions, already in the bottom 3 and struggle to score regularly. That's a dogshit combination. They'll go down with WBA and another. Dead right

I bet he gets burgled now hes locked up for the night.

I am reminded of the time I stood in the Smethwick Road end at WBA a few years ago with the Liverpool away fans. I have lived in the midlands for years now and a local lad who supported Liverpool talked me into going with him. Despite his Liverpool scarf his midland accent was not appreciated by his fellow Liverpool fans one of whom he had an altercation with. He got duffed up to the chant from the crowd of "Kill the Sheep" (a reference to being a "woolyback" as they say in scouseland for not belonging). I often think about that episode as he was the typical gloryhunter type of fan that Man U and Liverpool have legions of and it showed to me the low opinion the scouse fans had of that section of their support. I dont think we are in a position to take the piss out of anything to do with Liverpool at the moment so this thread just makes us look a bit pathetic.

the 5 live extra commenators are so biased. Their dissapointment that Spurs arent winning is so obvious
-
Just watched the game again myself. to add to the surrealism of watching us win 0-3 away, what was Johny Rotten doing sitting in our dugout? did anybody else notice him?
-
Tactics: crush his knuckles in the pre match handshakes, thats DeLap sorted, then we,ll win 1-0
-
The thing is, that if the crowd size is not an issue then why do the media keep banging on about our dwindling support empty seats etc. Liverpools capacity is 45K and they had only 42K and I just thought that was an interesting point as nothing was reported.
-
Good Point, I was forgetting that.

We should drop the subject IMO before we breathe life into a non story

Just as I thought, they are not sold out for every game then. Yes they are but only those who actually turn up are counted. Those having tickets but not turning up are not counted in the attendance, so the tickets are dead to the ticket office. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/tickets/info.htm So everyone who has a ticket at Newcastle turns up but loads of people buy tickets at Liverpool and dont turn up. Thanks for putting me right there Scouseman.

Owen has become such a class player with age that you could put him anywhere on the pitch outside of the back four. He has become a midfield player for me in his time with us rather than the pacey striker of old who played on the last defender. He could easily replace someone like Duff coming from deep.

Just noticed the crowd at Anfield for the high flying champions league match last night of 42010. In our relegation battle gate of 44567against Villa despite being the 5th live televised game of our little club on the trot, we still put two and a half thousand more bums on seats than the wonderfully loyal long suffering Anfield die hards. How do the media spin that one with their just look at the empty seats comments and lowest league crowd for 8 years crap.
-
Just take a step back and have a think about this. Barton had a great game the other night and is looking like re establishing himself. The media will not allow this so they will say absolutely anything to keep the scandal going including false racism and false claims of villa pursuing it. In short they will lie throught their teeth to keep the anti NU and anti Barton story alive. It sells papers. Dont be taken in by it. Barton for England!!!
-
Oba said nothing of substance really in that interview. what he did say was set up and put in his mouth by the Setanta/sky interviewer.
-
What sort of gate can we expect tomorrow and will we generate a 12th man atmosphere. Very important I think as Villa are liable to kill us with their power and pace if we are not motivated on and off the pitch. High stakes for confidence, Lose bottom. Win, go above Sunderland
-
Well we are bottom of the league now Sky telling us as Bolton are beating Man city
-
The rest of the premier league will also think he is the top keeper. Watch someone go for him in January, and we are in tatters as regards stopping anyone leaving at the moment.
-
I remember their last video in their record low points relegation season I think it was called, "one hundred greatest throw ins" or something like that.
-
Anyone who thinks Michael Owen is going to stay with us now probably should also believe in Santa claus and the tooth fairy too because there is more chance of the last two being true
-
IMO why should he commit millions of pounds for a Souness type manager to waste. That is what we are asking him to do if we discard the chief exec. Dof or whatever you call it. He has paid off the debt from the ridiculous years of that type of rule. Its not going to happen. Like it or not we are going to be dragged kicking and screaming into this type of management, Taggart ,Redknapp etc are bucking the trend but there is to much money at stake nowadays to give it to one bloke to fritter away. What he needs to do is get out and sell up for what he has paid, no more. If he is looking for a profit then he deserves all the shit that is going to come his way from us.
-
I cant believe there are any of our fans left who thought we would have stayed up last season under him. Sadly it looks as though we have only had a one season reprieve the way things are shaping up.
-
Jonas and Barton will need 3-4 games to get full match fitness I think. The squad is too small to make up for injuries, suspensions etc. Turning on Kinnear is premature at this stage, but typical of the pressure the managers of this great club have to work under.
