  1. 3 of the 4 people mentioned in this title are married, I think. Not sure about Roberto/Dino. Maybe it's too much of women, have you ever thought of that? Huh? Haha... well, at least I know not to get married anytime soon. Sucks when footie is more attractive than your wife, though.
  2. A few blokes on here need girlfriends or something as closely resembling a woman as they could possibly get. Fact!

    Wages crisis?

The only way we're going to attract players, is paying them high wages. We've been shite since Sir Bobby left, what else is going to attract them to our club? The Peter Ramage welcome fruit basket doesn't cut it anymore.
  4. Keep Emre and bring in a player who can play with him. Why would we sell someone we know can do the business if he's got players to work with? Seems silly.
  5. Is Defoe dreaming of having his leg muscles? or maybe just half of Oba's Talent! ZING!!!
  6. "FAO newcatle fans on the board -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i love it how u feel it necessary to vist the SMB in vite ur mates i enjoy ur pathetic attempts to to wind us up the FACT of the matter is that Safc - have a better ground - training ground and more importantly a board who love the club and appriciates the fans and a manager who can attract players to the club. lets face facts if a manager come in for you who do u wana play for roy keane or glen roader - no contest roy keane everytime bar michael owen i wouldnt honestly swap in player in the newcastle squad foor any of our and we will add if and when we are promoted probably the end of the thread really just wanted to get that off me chest like feck the mags" You couldn't make it up.
  7. This. Although, having Keano and Shearer possibly face off against each other as managers would be interesting. I hate Roy Keane, he is as ugly as a woman with a masculine upper lip.

    Rooney or Martins?

I might be getting whooshed, but wasn't he England's best player at the last Euro's? He was shredding defences before he broke his foot. Also, it's impossible to 'can't disagree'.
  9. I disagree with that. In most professional sports leagues in the US there are teams that are s*** and have been s*** ever since I can remember. Randy Lerner's NFL team the Cleveland Browns for example. The Chicago Cubs in baseball. And those aren't isolated examples. I do agree with the point you are trying to make which is that every team starts with a clean slate every year, but that isn't what sport is about is it? It renders every season meaningless. You never pay the cost of being s***, you never build on success, because you are always a few salary caps & free agencies & good draft picks away from success. No atmosphere, little passion, no tradition. Boring. The franchise system is a complete waste of time IMO because it promotes the 'spectacle' above the competition. The Chicago Cubs baseball team will always sell out their home games no matter how bad they are and will never win the...ahem..."World" Series, because there is a stagnant league structure. Can you imagine if the Premiership did away with the drop? At first it would be great...no chance of going down and no chance of Sunderland coming up....[/b]but the one who would profit most is Shepherd. Fills SJP every week, regardless of crap the side is, no matter how poorly they play, he makes his money and no pressure from the supporters because there is always next season so who gives a toss. That is American sport for you. Relegation, like the draw, just doesn't gel with their mentality.[/b] Three words, Toronto Maple Leafs, like the Toon, won nowt for 50 years, fill the arena every night and some ticket's go for (front row) around 600$+ a game, which doesn't include the seat fee's of around $40,000 (each seat) for those tickets. Toronto Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment is one of the wealthiest sporting companies in the world, if not the wealthiest. They're pretty lucky in that Toronto is hockey Mecca and it's all anyone cares about and wouldn't be as wealthy if there was a drop, as they would have certainly gone down. To make these changes would be ridiculous, it's why I love football, there's always something to worry about.
  10. Hahaha.... "Do the curtains match the carpet?" Prrrrrreeeeevoooorttttttt!!!!!!!!
  11. I'd have him back just to re-inact that goal celebration he did at the Scum away last year. Fucking mint!
  12. It looks stiff as hell, is that a "space-age" material?
  13. Is she a slapper trying to play coy with you or summick? Give her the love bone so she'll spill the beans FFS!
  14. Do we get a sell on clause for the 3mil we payed the wanker? I hope Soumess falls in the Sea down there, the big jerk.
  15. If this match was played across the channel they'd have no clue on how to get there!
  16. Out of that lot I fancy Spurs, Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen, Osasuna, Espanyol, Benfica, The Toon, and Sevilla to move on. Worried about our next match, but an away goal or two should seal it. Hopefully. So, out of those teams, I think we're in with a shout. Ranking the teams to win it looks something like this (imo): 1. Bremen (Played great in the CL and seem to have kept it up in this comp.) 2. Sevilla (Cup holders, know what it takes to win and have the talent.) 3. Spurs (As much as I hate the Cockney Mackems, they have more quality than us.) 4. The Toon (On our day, we can beat any of these teams, defending is a worry as always.) 5. Benfica (Very strong on home turf, not that convincing away from Lisbon) 6. Bayer Lev (Better club than they showed today, were down to 10 men and Lens won with a PK) 7. Espanyol (Could be a dark horse, some decent results for them) 8. Osasuna (Think they'll get past Rangers, but defo a weaker side) Like NSG said, though, there are 4-5 teams that could win it.
  17. As long as Dyer doesn't go off knacked, we'll be alright!
  18. Yeah i was surprised aswell. Really? I wasn't. Idiotic prices on a cold, rainy night when it's on tele anyway. Lower the prices and the crowds will come. But 28,500, mate? I figured we'd get over 30 at least. That's almost half the park empty.
  19. Is it true that there was under 30,000 there? Soccernet say's 28,500? I suppose I shouldn't be shocked by this, but it was potentially our last game in Europe at St. James for some time?
  20. I pray PSV or Bayern can do the business.
  21. I'd love to see PSV pull this one off.
  22. Legend tbh... Might be the smartest signing of the window. Defo best loan deal (sorry Gooch).
  23. Great... another bloody Scot! Looks like you'll have to watch it on the ol' unmentionable.
