Enjoyed the 12 seconds I saw before the ads. -
Amazed that anyone would be surprised at Gordon through the middle tbh. Fully expected it. Can't wait.

Comic delivery from BDB.

Totally see the sense in Gordon up top. If he plays like he did for thirty minutes against Liverpool he'll be a big asset.

Just a short 13 hours to go.

Sorloth man put it anywhere else

Deserved. Fuck off. Koke has been unreal since he came on

What a fucking goal

Liverpool looking pretty unimpressive in the main but have explosive qualities in an attacking sense. Not convinced they'll go the distance in any competition so far.

I'm assuming the P stands for Peter Silverstone. You're not getting my money, Peter.

I like the thought of that one but am quite certain I'll look a total dope in it.

Maintain Southgate is the type of person who could probably do alright there. He's never gonna pull up any trees tactically and won't return them to the top, but the culture there still just seems to stink, and his track record is in manifesting turnarounds in that area.

This is it. Newcastle should wear black shorts and I wouldn't want us to effectively be interchangeable like Man Utd, because kits are such an important part of a club's identity. However, I like the white shorts as long as they're very seldom used. When we're wearing them for something like PSG it elevates the specialness/uniqueness of the occasion to a small degree. They also looked particularly banging with that kit. Not sure how they'd go with our current mess of a shirt.

Could only follow the game on the radio yesterday but had a good session absorbing the content this evening. Initial reflections are that you can see why Bayern identified him as Kane's successor; he seemed to contribute really well from deeper positions, releasing himself from the very front and making cute passes, before making himself available in attacking positions. Looks like an intelligent player, and the goal was an absolute beauty. Did so well to generate the power he did; Murphy over-hit the cross tbh (not by much, it was a good ball, but it wasn't on a sixpence a la Gordon/Isak v Arsenal, and a worse striker doesn't bury that).

Shit news as opposed to apocalyptic news.

Get in there. Only had the wireless today but sounds like a mostly ugly win, which we'll absolutely take at this point. All about building some momentum like the boss said, and it's gonna take some time for us to get into our groove. Sounded like Tonali was absolutely everywhere, like Bruno could do with a rest, and like Wolt is a handful. Lovely stuff!

Please, please, please be at least vaguely decent.

Or maybe it just isn't "absolutely mental" that we took the decision not to interfere in the player's international duties and took a chance that he wouldn't catch his studs in the turf and do his knee in.
-
Seems dubious to me. Surely you can't equate another player stamping on your ankle with being fragile/not resilient?
-
Again, I'm not saying I expect him to be brilliant (you'll see my initial post on this started with "absolute disaster if true"). I just said I think Gordon will take responsibility, and I have some optimism that he can grow into the role if he plays it a lot. Clearly he needs to improve certain aspects, not to mention his discipline. Don't agree that he has fundamental ball-striking limitations. He's no Barnes and favours the timid placed shot too often, but he's scored some pearlers for us too.
