If we've got £20m in Jan, i'll actually be disappointed if we don't go for him.

    Give it a rest!!!
  6. 4-4-2. I want to know how Emre is doing down the left. If he's doing well, maybe there's a way to fit Parker into the team. I hope so, got nowt against the lad, the team just didn't seem to be working with him in it.

Been waiting to hear your opinion on Barnes for a while now, mate. Derby are my Championship team if you like... but i only really read the results and statistics, etc.

Aye, he could work in the Sibi/Dyer role. Bonus is that, if we do get him in Jan, it's like two or three new signings put together - because he is so versatile and a very fit lad (will probably change when he steps out on our training pitch, like). The concern is that he's unproven, and that's really what we could do without this season. Like i said earleir, i'd rather wait till summer but it'll be very difficult by then...
  9. Great news... Defoe's been on form.
  10. I can see your side of the argument, Bramble has cost us points with his mistakes but than so have others. My point is that our squad is tiny and if it's relatively cheap to keep Bramble then I'd keep him. I know mate, the squad's thin. But if we get rid of Bramble, and bring in one defender, the squad doesn't get any thinner yet it improves considerably. We've been on the lookout for a defender for yonks and it'll be a universal catastrophy, aswell as a big shock, if we don't get one in Jan... so i'm not really bothered. I'll just be relieved to get him off our books.
  11. Reading vs Everton Wigan vs Chelsea If Wigan and Everton both lose, and we win, we can go tenth! COME ON BOYS!!!

Scratch that. He can play anywhere across the midfield and also just behind the front two. Barnes is gonna be a really good player so i'd love to see us get a player of his calibre. I just wouldn't particularly want him in January, and wait for the summer. Unfortunate thing is that, come the summer, every man and his dog will be after him.
  13. Like we were ever going to get back the £4.5m or whatever it was we initially paid for him. May aswell cash in slightly now, than get nowt for him on the summer. Bet his wages are pretty big aswell, he's been a first team regular for the past four seasons*. *Mind boggles.
  14. Dontcha just love seeing that? Great innit.
  15. Bramble scored the goal against Chelsea in the last game of the season that got us into Europe. Pressley is 33 years old. Moore is injury prone and has pretty much said he's off at the end of the season. Bramble has a lot of critics but I'd have no problem keeping him as a squad player. If he really wants to stay at Newcastle maybe the club could get away with paying him less. Offer him a 1 year contract. Neither going backwards nor forwards if we do that. And yeah, he scored the goal against Chelsea and he had a decent run in the side. But as i've said countless times before - it's a shame how people persist with a handful of decent games per season. When the rest is largely crap.
  16. Dyer didn't play well at right-mid. Milner didn't play well at left-mid. Parker didn't fit into the team. Roeder picks same team. This is the kinda stuff i'm on about people, unless he changes it around a bit. But he could only really change it into a diamon, which didn't work either. Not saying it's catastrophic, because there's potential to dominate the midfield, but i just don't see goals coming from this formation.
  17. Agree 100%, would be a fantastic deal in the short-term. Although it probably would spell the end of Milner as he seems only keen to stick around if he's getting a regular game... unless he could be fobbed off by using Yorkie's logic earlier in the thread. Don't see an awful lot wrong with the logic tbh, Andy. When he's got competition in the team (which in fairness, he doesn't at the moment - or atleast shouldn't), it may well spur him on to keep his place in the side. And like i say, he'll still get plenty of games because he's one of our most versatile players.
