  1. Sibierski should have been brought on sooner, You changed your mind about the subs then, Gemmill? ;-)
  2. It has to cross the line to be a goal. There was a hint of irony in my post. ;-)

    Winning Formula

Precisely. Martins is barely an out and out striker. He likes to come back and mix the play up, it's what he's good at. A lot of the time in the first half (when we actually had an impetus), we were playing 4-6-0. Not a critisism to Martins, it just ain't his game.
  4. Meh. Given Solano --- Taylor --- Ramage --- Huntington Milner --- Emre --- Butt --- Duff Martins --- Dyer Dyer didn't work down the right. I wanted him there initially but i suppose that's not really suited to him and i don't think it ever really was. He needs to be played through the middle where he can mix things up and make a nuisance of himself. I'd have Duff there, but it only depends on whether or not he's fit. If he isn't, i'd have Rossi there in a like-for-like switch. Seppe played well there agsint Chelsea. I reckon Sibi will be an excellent impact player.
  5. And you know this how? Pathetic attitude is that tbh. There was absolutely nowt happening for us as it was - we may aswell make the substitutions, even if we're not guaranteed a great reaction. May as well keep the better players on, more chance Better players they may be. But they were doing fuck all tonight.

  7. Thats' correct imo. But robben doesn't need to act like he's got a rocketlauncher up his ass.. And i hate that diving from him, and that acting like if he was shot with a shotgun So he was 'hacked' down was he?
  8. Oh SHIT. Just remembered - i've gotta do the report for this bastard.
  9. Twat on the Chelsea forum: "Robben was fouled twice en route to the free-kick - he stealthily avoided the Solano challenge but was hacked down by Butt."
  10. Fuking snobbery tbh. :? Sounds more like a case of 'geniune fan who's payed a hefty amount, only to be irritated by a clueless tit in the background all game long'. Hardly snobbery imo.
  11. Naively trying to win the game. Read properly. You should recognise the word NAIVE. Alright then, smartarse, i'll turn it on its head. How do you 'naively' try to win a game? :?
  12. Trying to win a game. I agree - how naive can you get?
  13. That strike from Oba was sensational tbh. Absolutely brilliant piece of play, brilliant. So wish that it had counted. Would have been the goal of the season so far. Couldn't believe it when it hit the bar. "Where the fuck did that come from?" The touch, the vision, the strike. Superb goal.
  14. Exactly my thoughts come the 61st minute or so, until the end.

    Roeder on SSN...

You're own fault mate. You had the options infront of you. Behind you all the way - i crave for you to succeed, Glenn. But howay.
  16. Course we f***ing should. I want to see us win the game, not sit back and watch them attack us. They had won the moment Drogba entered the field while we had no fresh legs. We had F*** all on the bench tbh mate. Their bench pissed all over what we had on the pitch never mind what we had on the bench. It was less to do with fresh legs than it was to do with quality. Might have give us a slight lift, but realistically we were never scoring tonight. Disagree. Sibierski would have been a good impact player. He has been playing very good football of late, and he woul dhave given Martins a partner - which he so desperately needed. We were effectively playing with 10 men in the swecond half, because Martins could do absolutely nothing. There was Rossi aswell, who would certainly injected us with something, as he so has done whenever i've seen him play. I thought he would have been perfect to come on for Dyer, who was invisible. Absolutely nothing was happening for us in that second half - we needed something to reignite the spark. I dare say Rossi (or Rossi and Sibi) would have done that. I don't actually think it was the quality that mattered. It's the fact that players like Sibierski make a team. He ain't great - but he just makes us click at times. He should definitely have been brought on by the 60th minute or so.
  17. If it meant Moore coming in for Ramage, and Ramage replacing Baba as the left-back - and i'd be OK with that. We've got enough firepower from midfield to not need another sprightly wing-back... Ramage is good from a defensive side of things. Far better than Babayaro. (Nobby --- Taylor --- Moore --- Ramage) Ramage has proven to be totally inept at LB. From an attacking point of view, yes. But he is far superior defensively to Baba - which is what i feel is the most important thing. We need our four best defenders in our defense.

    Spurs extra time

Good. Couldn't bare a semi-final line-up which included Southend and Wycombe, and us not be there after tonights debarcle.
  20. You think that should of been a penalty? No way in hell that was a penalty...If you meant that situation when he got pushed in the back and threw himself on the ground..Was it Carvalho who pushed him a "little" ?? But when you consider what free-kicks they got...

  22. Possibly the biggest plus point for us from an individual point of view... Taylor and Ramage are REALLY coming on. I'll be damned if Moore or Bramble nick their place back.
  23. Except we did actually lose. We lose due to the combination of a silly rash challenge by Butt, an overreaction by Robben, and ball being shifted forward. I am glad we did not lose in open play. And we generally played as well as Chelsea. Nah, we lost because Chelsea changed their team when the game was dead, and we didn't. It was the thickest piece of non-management i think i have ever seen in a Newcastle match.
